Hi! I'm Adèle, I'm a French native currently studying a BA at UCL in International Relations and Japanese and soon a Master student in Public Policy at the University of Tokyo. I am part of a UCL Student Project called Impact Initiative that teaches English to London-based refugees and for which I designed materials and supervised online lessons. I have experience tailoring my tutoring to different age-groups and the tools available to me thanks to my mom -which works as a speech/language therapist- have been incredibly useful for this. My older sister is dyslexic and my little brother has very low eyesight and I would frequently help them study and practice their writing with me when we lived together. I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD without hyperactivity which I have managed to work around thanks to study methods that I would happily share with others. Apart from politics, international relations and Japanese, I have kept on studying literature and writing by taking extra university modules, and I am very confident about my writing. As an example, I recently helped a Physics student tailor his motivation letter for a Physics Master at ETH Zürich, for which he got accepted. I would be very happy to help you in subjects such as French or Japanese, as well as reviewing your motivation letters. I am currently living in France, but I will be in Tokyo from October 1st 2024 onwards. I look forward to tutoring you or your child!

Hi there! I'm a first-year student at the University of Manchester, studying BA Business Management and French. I'm half Italian and half Japanese, and I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) with subjects including Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, and Theatre. I understand how tough school can be, especially in your early teens when it’s hard to see the value of education. I used to struggle myself: at one point, I was advised to drop Higher Level Maths because I was scoring 2s and 3s in my tests. But I stayed committed, worked hard every day, and eventually achieved a 6 in Maths, with strong results across other subjects as well. I moved to Japan at the age of 8 and attended public Japanese school for two years. At the time, I was limited to the Japanese I had learned through my mother and grandparents. However, I quickly built a strong foundation, and by the age of 10, I had reached the expected level of Japanese students, including being able to write roughly 1,000 kanji characters. When I transferred to an international school, I continued studying it as a secondary language until the age of 16, where I continued to achieve top grades in Japanese. I may not have formal tutoring experience yet, but I have experience working with students through my role as a co-leader of a service group during college. I helped guide and motivate a team of 20 students aged 14 to 18, and together we organised a successful service trip from Japan to Cambodia starting from scratch. This taught me how to manage a team, keep students across different age groups on track, and stay focused on a shared goal. I'm passionate about helping students realise their potential, and I hope to support and motivate you to achieve your best.

I'm a Stem Cell Biology PhD student at University of Cambridge. I was in Japan until high school and I finished my undergraduate from University of California, Berkeley with biochemistry major and data science minor. I love all kinds of science and teaching is also my passion!! I have been tutoring from 7 to 50-year old students.
