Hi, I’m Alfie — a recent Classics graduate from the University of Manchester with a deep love of language, literature, and big ideas. I tutor in Latin, Ancient Greek, English, and Religious Studies. I studied Latin at both GCSE and A-Level (achieving an A in each), before reading Classics at the University of Manchester, where I graduated with a 2:1. At university, I focused heavily on mastering Classical Languages — Latin and Ancient Greek — and even studied at the Novum Vivarium in Rome, a renowned school where all instruction is delivered entirely in spoken Latin. Alongside my language studies, I developed a strong interest in the cultural, literary, and philosophical dimensions of the ancient world — interests which naturally extend into English and Religious Studies. I’ve hosted a podcast with Luke Ranieri, one of the world’s foremost scholars in modern spoken Latin, where we explored topics ranging from grammar to deeper questions about meaning and tradition. I’ve now been tutoring for over a year across various platforms. My teaching style is grounded in curiosity and collaboration: I like to ask open-ended questions and guide students toward figuring things out for themselves. This is especially effective in subjects that require interpretation and reflection, like English and Religious Studies. One thing I often help students with is building confidence. Many pupils — especially in intellectually demanding subjects — struggle not with ability but with a fear of making mistakes. My lessons create a safe space where trial and error is encouraged and where even small wins are celebrated. Over time, I’ve seen this approach transform not just how students perform, but how they think. Outside tutoring, I’m a passionate language learner (I speak French and Italian and am learning Russian) and I enjoy playing guitar in my free time. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch — I’d love to hear from you.

Hi, I'm Sumaiya and I'm studying Biological sciences with a foundation year at Queen Mary university of London.I I received Grades 9-8 during my GCSEs.’m passionate about learning, leading, and supporting others in their growth. I have tutored English, literature to GCSE students and I’ve also helped my siblings with math and other subjects. I’ve extended this passion through volunteering at a primary school, where I supported children in developing their English and math skills. These experiences strengthened my communication skills, patience and ability to explain ideas clearly—qualities I bring to every tutoring session. Beyond tutoring, I’ve taken on leadership roles as a House Captain and Prefect, where I guided and motivated my peers. These opportunities taught me valuable skills in teamwork, organization and problem-solving, as well as the confidence to step up and take responsibility. I’m also proud of my achievements outside the classroom. Winning a trophy in an Islamic competition showed me the rewards of dedication, discipline and continuous learning. Along the way, I’ve balanced academics, extracurricular activities community involvement and my faith, building strong time management and adaptability skills. When I’m not studying or leading, I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my family through watching movies and TV shows—they’re my favorite way to relax, discover new perspectives and spark creativity. At the heart of everything I do—whether it’s tutoring, volunteering, or leading—I aim to make a positive impact on others, while growing into a more skilled, empathetic, and confident individual.

Hello! I'm Fauresthia, I am a fully qualified secondary MFL( Modern Foreign Languages) teacher of French and Spanish. With a burning passion to inspire the next generation to embrace and discover why it is important to learn a new language. My academic journey began by being a native French speaker and receiving an A* at GCSE and an A at A-Level. I attended Manchester Metropolitan University for my undergraduate to learn French with Spanish. I was able to deepen my understanding of the cultural history and what the issues in society were in both countries via films, books and the topic of multiculturalism. In my 3rd year of university I went on my year aboard to completely immerse myself into both cultures. First I went to Reims, France for 5 months, where I taught English to primary children and toddlers at an English private school, it was a reveting experience. Later to Murcia, Spain for 6 months to the University of Murcia, where I studied travel and tourism, film studies and also additional Spanish language classes. I loved my time in Murcia, funnily enough I just didn't want to come back. I must say my year aboard truly allowed me to acquire various new skills as well as reflect on all the opportunities ahead in the field of work. Which led to me choosing to study once more after my last year of university. I decided to study a PGCE MFL French with Spanish for a year and graduated at King's College London. These achievements not only reflect my grasp of both languages but portraits my dedication and desire to speak these languages fluently as well as teaching them. Alongside my teaching, I have gained over a year of experience as a tutor. Having had the privilege of supporting students from diverse backgrounds but also GCSE and KS3 students all aiming high. My versatile teaching style is tailor-made to fit each student's unique learning style. Focusing on all 4 mfl skills (listening and reading, speaking and writing), as well as vocabulary and grammar. All in all ensuring their comfort, engagement, and evidently their success. As a tutor and teacher, my mission is to not only to encourage academic improvement but also to inspire a genuine love for learning a new language in my students. I am able to create a safe environment in which students will always feel empowered, motivated, and excited to reach their full potential. I am looking forward to collaborating with you and your child through their academic journey!

Very big improvement given a short period of time with only a small time period of about 3 months my daughter in year 10 has gone from a level U to a level 4 in her maths grade with her tutor Jose. He is a very good maths teacher and has very easy ways of doing hard GCSE maths. What my daughter used to find immensely hard is now very easy. Jose is sadly not her tutor anymore but this was a very great experience and will be looking forward to using this company again for my daughter to get high grades and pass her GCSE’s thank you very much.

Excellent service, highly recommented Booked a block of Lessons leading up to my sons maths exam as maths was his weakest subject and he felt he wanted help. Pia (the tutor) was patient and professional and explained things in a way my son could easily understand. He looked forward to each lesson and felt the lessons gave him the confidence, knowledge and understanding he needed to face his maths GCSE exam. He thinks he did really well in his first exam and we are so pleased we invested in the lessons leading up to his GCSE’s. Can’t recommend Edumentors and Pia enough. Really professional service and well worth the money.

The tutoring times were really flexible and the tutor themselves (Izzy Mitchell) was amazing. The level of communication allowed between the student and tutor made it easy for my questions to be answered quickly. So thank you so much Edumentors and Izzy! Personally, I went from a 6 to a 9 in AQA English literature in just a few weeks so if you are thinking about it, give it a go!

Need a Tutor to Help Your Child Succeed?

Key Stage 3 (KS3) is an important stage in the UK education system, spanning across school years 7-9 for students aged 11-14. It's a step up from the basics you learnt at primary, preparing you for the more advanced stuff you'll learn in KS4.

Key Stage 3 Curriculum - Subjects Covered

In KS3, students study a wide range of subjects across a balanced curriculum developed to ensure progression and development of knowledge and skills across disciplines. Reading, writing, speaking, and listening are the core of English, while algebra, geometry, statistics, and number operations constitute the essentials of KS3 Maths.

KS 3 English: Focuses on reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Mathematics: Includes algebra, geometry, statistics, and number operations.

Science: Covers biology, chemistry, and physics.

History and Geography: Teaches British, European, and world history, alongside physical and human geography.

Modern Foreign Languages: Typically French, Spanish, or German.

Design and Technology, Art and Design, Music, and Physical Education: Foster creativity, practical skills, and physical fitness.

Computing: Basics of computer science and digital literacy.

Citizenship and PSHE: Focus on personal well-being, social skills, and understanding of democracy and government.

What Do Students Get Assessed on in Key Stage 3?

All assessments in Key Stage 3 are continuous and take various forms. Tests, assignments, and projects are employed regularly to assess students. By the end of Key Stage 3, teachers assess progress in relation to typical levels of performance; through standardised tests and classwork, teachers ensure that students are on course for the next stage of their education.

Why is Key Stage 3 Important?

Key Stage 3 is crucial for a few reasons. It expands the skills taught in primary education, presents new areas of language arts and math, and is designed to improve problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. It leads onto Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) where students start their GCSEs. This type of critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-study keeps you growing and developing your brain.

How Online KS3 Tutoring Works

Specialist tutors provide additional support for students through Key Stage 3. Students get individual attention to target their weak areas, with guidance from experienced tutors who are knowledgeable of the KS3 curriculum. Dynamic schedules allow for sessions as busy schedules permit, and customised learning plans work on boosting learning confidence across subjects.
