Hi, my name is Max! I’m currently a first-year student at the University of Warwick studying History and Politics. I am looking to tutor students at both A-Level and GCSE (History) levels and help them get the best possible grade. Before university, I took a year to travel the world, giving me valuable life experience, meaning I am mature, reliable, and patient, and will bring these skills alongside my subject knowledge and a positive energy to help as a tutor. I have success in these subjects, achieving an A* in History and an A in Politics at A-Level, as well as seven Grade 9’s at GCSE, including in History. I studied GCSE History (Edexcel), taking the Cold War, Weimar & Nazi Germany, and Elizabethan England topics. At A-Level History (OCR) I took the topics of Russia 1894-1941, Colonialism to Independence (British Empire), and Alfred & the Making of England (Anglo-Saxons). I also did a personal study essay on the factors motivating the USA in the Vietnam War and an Extended Project Qualification on the Cuban Revolution, achieving an A*. I did A-Level Politics (Edexcel) and can help students prepare for either UK politics, US politics, or ideologies (including Feminism). I can help students revise and prepare for exams on any of these topics, and have a keen interest in them myself. I am a strong believer that for humanities subjects the best way to revise and prepare for exams is to plan essay questions, and I can help students in the best way to do this (ensuring that students incorporate what the examiner is looking for). I am also happy to help students recap their knowledge on particular parts of the course and ensure understanding of the fundamental concepts, ideas, definitions, and examples. I also have some direct experience as a tutor, as I acted as a mentor for Numeracy and Literacy for students between Years 7-9, helping young students progress in Maths and English. As an undergraduate student, my interests lie largely in modern history, looking at revolutions, colonialism (and decolonisation), and how the modern world was made (ranging from travel and epidemics, to slavery and the environment). I am also studying the history of the Middle East, looking at oil in Iran and Arabia, the Palestine conflict in Israel, and the broader issue of Islamic militarism. In Politics, I am looking at core political concepts and ideas, ideologies, and theories of international relations and global governance. I can bring my knowledge from this and my experience as a GCSE/A-Level student to help students prepare for their exams or generally improve their foundation in History and/or Politics. I look forward to meeting and teaching you!

My name is Samadi Narasingha, and I am a third-year Law with Politics (LLB) student at the University of Manchester. I am currently achieving a consistent first-class average across my degree, including 80 in Criminal Law, the highest mark in a cohort of around 300 students, and 72 in both Contract and Tort Law. Studying Law with Politics has strengthened my analytical writing, argumentation, and understanding of political systems. At A level, I achieved the highest mark in Politics in my cohort and the fourth highest mark in History. I achieved 80 percent in A level Politics Paper 2 and 38 out of 40 in my A level History coursework. I offer Edexcel A level Politics tuition in both UK and US Politics, with support tailored to content knowledge, essay structure, evaluation, model answers, and exam technique. I have over three years of formal tutoring experience, including two years with Edumentors, alongside work with other agencies and private students. I have taught students online and in person from primary level to A level. This experience has helped me adapt lessons to different abilities, learning styles and individual goals. I have supported students to make substantial academic progress. For example, one AQA GCSE English Language and Literature student improved from grades 2 and 3 to grades 8 and 8, finishing only four marks away from a grade 9. I also helped an A-level Politics student progress from a D to an A within a few months through focused content teaching, regular essay practice, detailed feedback and exam technique. My approach is structured, encouraging and student-centred. Lessons use clear explanations, retrieval practice, tailored resources, essay planning, timed questions, model answer analysis and constructive marking. The aim is to build lasting understanding, confidence and the independent skills needed to perform strongly in exams.

Need a Politics Tutor to Help Your Child Succeed?

GCSE Politics can become difficult when students are expected to explain political ideas clearly, analyse different viewpoints and build balanced arguments in exam answers. Many students understand the content but struggle to apply their knowledge effectively under timed conditions.

This is often when parents begin looking for more focused support. Some choose a GCSE Politics Tutor for subject-specific guidance, while others compare related humanities support, such as a GCSE Social Studies Tutor or GCSE Psychology Tutors when students enjoy discussion-based and analytical subjects.

With different learning approaches available, it helps to understand what kind of support will make the biggest difference.
