Hi, my name is Max and I am a recent Human, Social and Political Sciences graduate at the University of Cambridge. I am confident in tutoring a vast array of subjects at IB, A Level, GCSE and KS3 levels. This includes English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Geography, Politics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I have been working at Edumentors for over 18 months now and have tutored an array of subjects for hundreds of hours at A-Level, IB, GCSE and KS3 levels. At Sixth Form, I studied the IB and received a total of 44/45 points, with 7, 7, 7 at higher level, and also received 11 GCSE level 9s (including Further Maths). I am a recent Graduate from University of Cambridge, achieving a high 2:1 grade, focusing on Political Science and quantitative, statistical methods on Politics specifically. I have many examination and preparation techniques I look forward to sharing, which will be recommended on a student-by-student basis, meaning my tutoring is tailored to the specific needs of your child. Not only this, but if required, I am suited to delving beyond course material to debate topics at a higher level, which is excellent preparation for university work and personal statement-making. Specifically, I have helped students achieve grade 8s/9s in their English and Maths GCSE studies from the lower grades (5 and 6) they were working at initially. I have received excellent feedback from all the students I have tutored. For example, in English, I find collaborative discussion around key texts essential to unlocking the top grades. This is not only in relation to set texts, but sometimes I have found it rewarding for the student (depending on their ability) to discuss texts beyond the curriculum to challenge them further (especially in English Language lessons) Overall, my approach to teaching is professional, approachable, engaging, and I seek to tailor my teaching methods for the needs of each student. Part of this is my in-depth knowledge of exam-boards such as AQA and Edexcel, meaning I can tailor tutoring lessons to each board respectively, and ensure I cover the required content in-depth. Now that I have graduated, I am also very flexible regarding scheduling, meaning I am available for as many or as little sessions as you need me for. This will be the case until the start of next year, meaning I can offer long-term tutoring support. Aside from this, I am a keen Badminton-player, am currently learning German at an advanced level, and am the Editor-In-Chief of the Cambridge Journal of Political Affairs. These are all experiences I find very rewarding, and I hope they demonstrate to you my broad-ranging academic and extra-curricular ability. I look forward to helping your child reach their goals! Please message if you are interested, or have any questions at all.

Hi, I’m Raina! I’m a final-year Law student at the University of York, set to graduate with a 2:1, and I bring over 2.5 years of tutoring experience in GCSE English Literature, A-Level Sociology, and A-Level Politics. Academically, I achieved top results—9s in both GCSE English Literature and English Language, and AAA at A-Level, with A*s in Sociology and Politics, and an A in English Literature. I use that subject expertise to help students unlock their academic potential through high-impact, exam-focused tutoring. My sessions are grounded in real exam practice, using past papers, personalised questions, and tailored homework to build confidence and critical thinking—key skills for success at GCSE, A-Level, and beyond. I believe that knowing content is only half the battle; being able to apply that knowledge effectively under exam conditions is what gets top grades. What sets me apart is my ability to explain complex ideas in a clear, engaging way that works across all exam boards. I make sure every student understands why what they’re learning matters, while giving them the practical skills to answer any question that comes their way. Beyond academics, I’ve worked closely with teenagers for over three years, including mentoring sixth-form students, supporting neurodivergent learners, and helping young people transition from sixth form to university. I’m DBS-checked and take a supportive, pastoral approach to tutoring—your child will always feel safe, heard, and encouraged. In my free time, I write and study poetry (I'm a published poet!), and I bring that love of critical thinking and creative expression into each session. Whether your child needs to boost their exam performance, deepen their subject knowledge, or prepare for the next stage in their education, I’m here to guide them every step of the way.

Hi, my name is Max! I’m currently a first-year student at the University of Warwick studying History and Politics. I am looking to tutor students at both A-Level and GCSE (History) levels and help them get the best possible grade. Before university, I took a year to travel the world, giving me valuable life experience, meaning I am mature, reliable, and patient, and will bring these skills alongside my subject knowledge and a positive energy to help as a tutor. I have success in these subjects, achieving an A* in History and an A in Politics at A-Level, as well as seven Grade 9’s at GCSE, including in History. I studied GCSE History (Edexcel), taking the Cold War, Weimar & Nazi Germany, and Elizabethan England topics. At A-Level History (OCR) I took the topics of Russia 1894-1941, Colonialism to Independence (British Empire), and Alfred & the Making of England (Anglo-Saxons). I also did a personal study essay on the factors motivating the USA in the Vietnam War and an Extended Project Qualification on the Cuban Revolution, achieving an A*. I did A-Level Politics (Edexcel) and can help students prepare for either UK politics, US politics, or ideologies (including Feminism). I can help students revise and prepare for exams on any of these topics, and have a keen interest in them myself. I am a strong believer that for humanities subjects the best way to revise and prepare for exams is to plan essay questions, and I can help students in the best way to do this (ensuring that students incorporate what the examiner is looking for). I am also happy to help students recap their knowledge on particular parts of the course and ensure understanding of the fundamental concepts, ideas, definitions, and examples. I also have some direct experience as a tutor, as I acted as a mentor for Numeracy and Literacy for students between Years 7-9, helping young students progress in Maths and English. As an undergraduate student, my interests lie largely in modern history, looking at revolutions, colonialism (and decolonisation), and how the modern world was made (ranging from travel and epidemics, to slavery and the environment). I am also studying the history of the Middle East, looking at oil in Iran and Arabia, the Palestine conflict in Israel, and the broader issue of Islamic militarism. In Politics, I am looking at core political concepts and ideas, ideologies, and theories of international relations and global governance. I can bring my knowledge from this and my experience as a GCSE/A-Level student to help students prepare for their exams or generally improve their foundation in History and/or Politics. I look forward to meeting and teaching you!

Very big improvement given a short period of time with only a small time period of about 3 months my daughter in year 10 has gone from a level U to a level 4 in her maths grade with her tutor Jose. He is a very good maths teacher and has very easy ways of doing hard GCSE maths. What my daughter used to find immensely hard is now very easy. Jose is sadly not her tutor anymore but this was a very great experience and will be looking forward to using this company again for my daughter to get high grades and pass her GCSE’s thank you very much.

Excellent service, highly recommented Booked a block of Lessons leading up to my sons maths exam as maths was his weakest subject and he felt he wanted help. Pia (the tutor) was patient and professional and explained things in a way my son could easily understand. He looked forward to each lesson and felt the lessons gave him the confidence, knowledge and understanding he needed to face his maths GCSE exam. He thinks he did really well in his first exam and we are so pleased we invested in the lessons leading up to his GCSE’s. Can’t recommend Edumentors and Pia enough. Really professional service and well worth the money.

The tutoring times were really flexible and the tutor themselves (Izzy Mitchell) was amazing. The level of communication allowed between the student and tutor made it easy for my questions to be answered quickly. So thank you so much Edumentors and Izzy! Personally, I went from a 6 to a 9 in AQA English literature in just a few weeks so if you are thinking about it, give it a go!

Absolutely superb. Helped my son move from a predicted D in Maths to an actual A, in year. Highly recommend both Edumentors and specifically Apoorv as a tutor. It was easy to set-up, pay and manage. Any issues were solved quickly and without fuss.

Fantastic Flexible German Tutoring We had Imogen from Edumentor tutoring my daughter for GCSE’s. Imogen is a fantastic tutor and through the year prepared my daughter enabling her to get a 9 in German. Edumentor were extremely flexible and helpful in ensuring we could have the sessions when we needed them the most. I would throughly recommend using them for your GCSE tutoring.

Need a Politics Tutor to Help Your Child Succeed?

GCSE Politics can become difficult when students are expected to explain political ideas clearly, analyse different viewpoints and build balanced arguments in exam answers. Many students understand the content but struggle to apply their knowledge effectively under timed conditions.

This is often when parents begin looking for more focused support. Some choose a GCSE Politics Tutor for subject-specific guidance, while others compare related humanities support, such as a GCSE Social Studies Tutor or GCSE Psychology Tutors when students enjoy discussion-based and analytical subjects.

With different learning approaches available, it helps to understand what kind of support will make the biggest difference.
