Hi, I'm Sumaiya and I'm studying Biological sciences with a foundation year at Queen Mary university of London.I I received Grades 9-8 during my GCSEs.’m passionate about learning, leading, and supporting others in their growth. I have tutored English, literature to GCSE students and I’ve also helped my siblings with math and other subjects. I’ve extended this passion through volunteering at a primary school, where I supported children in developing their English and math skills. These experiences strengthened my communication skills, patience and ability to explain ideas clearly—qualities I bring to every tutoring session. Beyond tutoring, I’ve taken on leadership roles as a House Captain and Prefect, where I guided and motivated my peers. These opportunities taught me valuable skills in teamwork, organization and problem-solving, as well as the confidence to step up and take responsibility. I’m also proud of my achievements outside the classroom. Winning a trophy in an Islamic competition showed me the rewards of dedication, discipline and continuous learning. Along the way, I’ve balanced academics, extracurricular activities community involvement and my faith, building strong time management and adaptability skills. When I’m not studying or leading, I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my family through watching movies and TV shows—they’re my favorite way to relax, discover new perspectives and spark creativity. At the heart of everything I do—whether it’s tutoring, volunteering, or leading—I aim to make a positive impact on others, while growing into a more skilled, empathetic, and confident individual.

Hi! I am a Masters graduate with a Distinction in Creative Writing, along with a First Class Honours degree in English Literature from Durham University. I also achieved A* in English Literature at A Level and A* in English Literature and English Language at GCSE. My lessons are generally structured around past questions from the relevant exam board. I will usually give students 5-10 minutes to read the extract and make initial notes relating to the question, before going through my own notes and how I would approach the question. This includes close analysis of key themes, literary devices and the writer's intentions, alongside a suggested essay structure which takes students through what to include paragraph by paragraph. I then give students the opportunity to begin writing a response to the question and am available to offer assistance as required. Students can then finish the question as homework and I will provide feedback in our next session - if requested, I can also provide live feedback paragraph by paragraph while you are writing. I'm currently working on the novel I wrote for my Master's degree and gathering research for my PhD next year. I'm extremely passionate about tutoring - my ambition is to become a university lecturer and published novelist. I only offer tutoring in English related topics as this is my specific area of expertise, and I want to ensure I can provide great quality, well-informed sessions. Contact me for personalised lesson plans and friendly, patient tutoring!

Hi, I’m Syenna, a UCL medical student with a passion for helping students not just improve academically, but truly believe in their own potential. I’ve been tutoring for over 5 years, supporting students of all ages to move up sets, strengthen their understanding, and achieve top grades in their exams. One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring for me is seeing confidence grow. Academically, I achieved mostly 8s and 9s at GCSE, followed by straight A grades across 4 A-levels. I also scored in the top 10% of the BMAT, securing my place to study Medicine at UCL. Alongside my medical degree, I’m also undertaking the highly competitive Bachelor’s in Surgical Sciences, which reflects both my work ethic and my commitment to excellence. Beyond subject tutoring, I also offer support with: Interview preparation (including medical school interviews) Personal statement coaching University application guidance My medical background means I’m organised, patient, and skilled at breaking down tricky topics into simple, digestible steps. I always take the time to understand how each child learns best, and I adapt my teaching style to suit them, whether they need gentle encouragement, clear step-by-step guidance, or a boost in confidence. Most importantly, I create an environment where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace. You can rely on me to be consistent, professional, and fully invested in your child’s progress every single week. If you’re looking for a tutor who is caring, dependable, and dedicated to helping your child thrive — I’d love to support your family.

Hi there! My name is Clara, and I am currently studying Philosophy at the University of St Andrews. I have been tutoring since 2023 and have taught more than 800 sessions through Edumentors, working with students of a wide range of ages, abilities and learning goals. My Tutoring Experience: Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of supporting students with different needs and aspirations. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my sessions to the individual - whether that means breaking down a challenging topic, identifying gaps in knowledge, developing exam technique or simply helping a student feel more confident in their abilities. In 2024, I also completed a training course in supporting students with SEND, which further developed my ability to communicate clearly, adapt my teaching style and create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes without judgement. Building confidence is an important part of my approach, alongside helping students achieve their academic goals. I also hope to encourage a genuine enjoyment of learning, rather than focusing solely on exam results. Academic Background: • University: University of St Andrews - MA Philosophy • A-Levels: A*A*AA • AS-Level: A • GCSEs: Six grade 9s and four grade 8s Student Testimonial: “Clara tutored me for the last 3 weeks of my A-levels for religious studies A-level (OCR), starting a week before my first exam in this subject. She was incredibly helpful, allowing me to understand the key content that I needed to know and filled in any gaps in my knowledge and understanding. She also marked an essay I sent her and responded to any questions I sent through messages whilst revising outside of scheduled lessons. It was exactly what I needed to build some confidence just before the exams for this subject and helped me feel clearer about what I needed to do for revision and the exams to do my best. We got on really well and she was very non-judgmental and listened to me and my needs, I would highly recommend her for tutoring!” - Lizzie, A-Level student
