I’m Alanah, I study French and Russian at UCL, with A-levels in Maths, French and Latin. I have a year of tutoring experience, working with children in the age range of 9-18. I enjoy helping students to excel in their studies, help them to achieve their best possible result, as well as boost their academic confidence.
12 Grade 9's at GCSE 3 A*'s at A-Level Undergraduate at University of Oxford Internal Academic Scholar. I have a genuine passion for the Classical languages. I believe that fluency can be achieved in these, just like in modern languages. My goal is, by improving a student's proficiency in latin or Greek, to open the rich world of Classics to them.
I have tutored French for a year at my previous school for students taking French GCSE. I am currently in my 1st year at Cambridge University where I am studying Modern and Medieval Languages (French and Latin). At A Level I got an A* in French, Latin and Maths and an A in Further Maths and at GCSE I got 11 9s and an 8.

GCSE Latin can become difficult when students move beyond vocabulary learning and start translating longer passages or analysing ancient texts in detail. Many students understand individual words but struggle to apply grammar rules accurately under exam conditions.
This is often when families begin looking for more focused support. Some choose Latin tutors for subject-specific guidance, while others explore GCSE Latin tutors online for more flexible learning. Parents comparing language and humanities subjects may also look at options such as a GCSE History tutor when students enjoy analytical and essay-based work.
With different learning approaches available, it helps to understand what kind of support will make the biggest difference.
If you still need assistance, our support team is always available to answer your questions and help you choose the right tutor for your educational goals and learning needs.
