Hello, I'm Isla! I recently graduated from Durham University with a first-class degree in Biological Sciences. During my second and third years at university, I formally tutored students at various levels up to A-Levels. I greatly enjoy teaching and have been doing informal tutoring throughout my educational journey from GCSEs. I am keen to help students understand, engage with, and enjoy the content they are learning! I tutored Biology A-Level during my university years. My teaching style focuses on question-and-answer methods, with exam and study questions helping further enhance the student's knowledge of the subject, which helped me achieve 8/9s in GSCE science subjects and an A* in A-Level Biology. However, I will alter lessons to complement the student's needs. I explore anything the students don't understand until they feel confident about the material, using visual aids to reinforce any particular areas of difficulty. I also like to bring in extra material related to the everyday world they see and the information they are learning about. I will always work to improve their confidence in themselves and their skills. Furthermore, I have developed acute skills in writing scientific essays, literature reviews, and designing an ecology project. Therefore, I can provide feedback and offer any aid to those who want to improve in any of these areas. During my work experience and while volunteering for a SHINE project, I worked with younger kids (KS2) to provide English lessons. I immensely enjoyed teaching this subject and am enthusiastic about English. I obtained an English Literature scholarship for my A-level education, achieved an A* for English Literature A-level, and am spending my current year after my university degree working on a novel. I would love to help any student find a passion for creative writing or analysis of literature, which allows them to prepare before they go into KS3 or GCSEs. In my free time, I work on a fiction novel, sew, or hike in the wilderness. I am interested in mycology, spending lots of time looking for and identifying various fruiting fungi, and zoology, enjoying any time spent with animals! I aim to promote the same enthusiasm and inspire confidence in the students during their academic journey. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to working with you and your student to achieve their academic and personal goals!

Hello! My name is Joao Inacio Nunes and I currently study Biochemistry at King’s College London. I have participated in competitions such as the chemistry Olympiad, and also events like the pharmacology masterclasses hosted by UCL during my time at sixth form. This together with my A* achieved at A level biology and Chemistry is a clear reflection of my desire to always learn more about science. However, I realised during that time content alone will very rarely get you top marks, and skills such as writing answers specific to the examboard (in my case AQA) and critical thinking is what differentiates between the top and average students. I want to tutor because I want to help people that have a genuine interest in science, but cannot show that through their grades due to other problems such as the specificity of Mark schemes or time management in the exam. I offer to teach the content but also other skills through tasks like walkthrough of exam specific questions, vital for the top grades that many students and parents don’t know about. During my free time I am currently learning French, as it is a subject not related to science and therefore I’m not constantly drowning in STEM content! I also play football for my university team as I believe a healthy balance between the mind and body is important. Even in football I feel the need to direct others during the game, reflecting my natural desire to help others.

Hi, my name is Ali, I'm a medical student at The University of Manchester with a strong passion for education and helping students reach their academic potential. I believe that with the right guidance, effective study techniques, and consistent effort, every student can make meaningful progress and achieve their goals. Academically, I achieved AAA at A-level in Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology, as well as Grade 9s at GCSE in AQA Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics. I was also awarded the Biology award upon completing my GCSEs. Having recently completed these qualifications myself, I understand both the subject content and the exam techniques required to succeed. I have experience supporting students through peer tutoring at GCSE, A-level, and university level. Notably, I was a peer mentor for Chemistry during my A-levels. In addition, I have volunteered at university society events where I assessed fellow students, provided feedback on exam performance, and helped improve understanding of mark schemes and individual areas for development. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and approachable way. My tutoring approach focuses on the student first and foremost and building their academic confidence, tailoring lessons to their needs and weaknesses. Whether a student wants to improve their understanding of difficult topics, develop exam technique, or work towards top grades, I aim to create a patient, supportive and encouraging learning environment. Outside of my studies I enjoy drawing and exploring artistic mediums, reading and going to the gym. Having lived in Egypt and China, I have developed an interest in different cultures and enjoy meeting people from diverse backgrounds. These experiences have helped me become an adaptable and approachable individual who can build positive relationships with students and parents alike.

I am a third-year medical student at King's College London with a robust academic background and a passion for tutoring. My educational journey began at a top-ranking grammar school in Birmingham, where I achieved nine Grade 9s and two Grade 8s at GCSEs and secured A*AA grades at A level. I excelled in the UCAT, scoring in the top 7% nationwide. As a bilingual speaker of French and English, I bring effective communication skills to my tutoring sessions. My tutoring experience started during the COVID-19 pandemic, driven by a desire to support students who were disadvantaged by the abrupt transition to remote learning. Recognizing the potential long-term impact on their education, I stepped in to provide the necessary guidance and support. I have since developed a comprehensive tutoring program that covers GCSE and A-level subjects, UCAT preparation, and medical school admissions guidance (strategic applying, assistance with personal statement and interview preparation eg MMI station preparation) . My approach is tailored to each student's needs, fostering both understanding and confidence in their abilities. My academic achievements, combined with my dedication to helping others and real-world tutoring experience, make me a highly effective and compassionate tutor committed to student success. I have since helped over 50+ students achieve entry into top medical and dental schools across the UK, including Oxbridge, and London Universities!

Very big improvement given a short period of time with only a small time period of about 3 months my daughter in year 10 has gone from a level U to a level 4 in her maths grade with her tutor Jose. He is a very good maths teacher and has very easy ways of doing hard GCSE maths. What my daughter used to find immensely hard is now very easy. Jose is sadly not her tutor anymore but this was a very great experience and will be looking forward to using this company again for my daughter to get high grades and pass her GCSE’s thank you very much.

Excellent service, highly recommented Booked a block of Lessons leading up to my sons maths exam as maths was his weakest subject and he felt he wanted help. Pia (the tutor) was patient and professional and explained things in a way my son could easily understand. He looked forward to each lesson and felt the lessons gave him the confidence, knowledge and understanding he needed to face his maths GCSE exam. He thinks he did really well in his first exam and we are so pleased we invested in the lessons leading up to his GCSE’s. Can’t recommend Edumentors and Pia enough. Really professional service and well worth the money.

The tutoring times were really flexible and the tutor themselves (Izzy Mitchell) was amazing. The level of communication allowed between the student and tutor made it easy for my questions to be answered quickly. So thank you so much Edumentors and Izzy! Personally, I went from a 6 to a 9 in AQA English literature in just a few weeks so if you are thinking about it, give it a go!

Absolutely superb. Helped my son move from a predicted D in Maths to an actual A, in year. Highly recommend both Edumentors and specifically Apoorv as a tutor. It was easy to set-up, pay and manage. Any issues were solved quickly and without fuss.

Fantastic Flexible German Tutoring We had Imogen from Edumentor tutoring my daughter for GCSE’s. Imogen is a fantastic tutor and through the year prepared my daughter enabling her to get a 9 in German. Edumentor were extremely flexible and helpful in ensuring we could have the sessions when we needed them the most. I would throughly recommend using them for your GCSE tutoring.
