Hi there! I’m Arian, a passionate tutor dedicating my career to helping students succeed in science, drawing on years of experience as both an educator and a researcher. As a tutor, I specialise in building students’ confidence, preparing them for exams with targeted strategies to boost grades, and delivering lessons that plug knowledge gaps and maximise learning in the time available. My goal is to help each student make measurable progress, feel more secure in their abilities, and achieve results they can be proud of. I specialise in working with small groups to create a focused and supportive environment, with a limited number of 1:1 places available for those seeking more tailored support. Please note that the advertised rate is indicative only — your individual needs, level, and goals will always be taken into account to find the best solution for you. You're warmly invited to enquire about a free trial session, where we can meet, discuss your aims, and explore how I can best support your progress. Before focusing on tutoring full-time, I was a Teacher of Science at United Learning (2020–2022) and a CREST Award Assessor for the British Science Association (2017–2020). These roles gave me invaluable experience working directly with students and recognising their achievements. In terms of qualifications, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Birkbeck, University of London, in 2015, followed by my Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Leadership (PGDE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 2021 and 2022. But my journey in science started well before that. As a student, I explored fascinating areas of biology through internships at top institutions like Cambridge, UCL, and the University of Münster. From protein crystallography and bioinformatics to cutting-edge research on aging, these experiences shaped my understanding of science and how to make it approachable and exciting for students. One of my proudest moments was as part of Birkbeck’s very first iGEM team in 2015. We took on a synthetic biology challenge, designed plasmid constructs, and even presented our work in Boston, USA, earning a Bronze award. I believe in making science relatable and engaging, helping students not only achieve their academic goals but also develop a genuine curiosity for the subject. Whether it’s simplifying complex concepts, preparing for exams, or inspiring a love for science, I’m here to help. If you’re looking for a tutor who combines experience, enthusiasm, and a proven approach to improving grades and confidence, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s make learning a journey of discovery. 😊

Hi, I’m Abarna! I’m a third-year medical student with over four years of tutoring experience, supporting students from Key Stage 2 through to A-Level. I specialise in 11+ preparation, Maths, Sciences and English, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding and achieve their academic goals. Having achieved A* grades at A-Level and successfully secured a place at medical school, I understand the dedication, resilience and effective study techniques needed to succeed in competitive exams. I also mentor aspiring medical students through Medic Mentor, supporting students with UCAT preparation, personal statements, interview practice and academic tutoring. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit their individual strengths, learning style and areas for improvement. My sessions are engaging, supportive and structured, with a strong focus on making difficult topics feel clear and manageable. Alongside improving grades, I aim to help students develop effective revision techniques, stronger study habits and the confidence to become more independent learners. I always encourage questions and create a positive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Whether your child is preparing for the 11+, working towards top GCSE or A-Level grades, or simply needs extra support and confidence in a subject, I’m committed to helping them make meaningful progress and reach their full potential.

Hi, I'm Jasmin! I'm currently studying Biomedical Science and have always had a passion for science and helping others learn. During my A-levels, I had the opportunity to mentor and tutor younger students, which showed me how rewarding it is to help someone their confidence and achieve their goals. Since then, I've enjoyed supporting students by breaking down challenging topics into simple, manageable steps and adapting my teaching style to suit each individual's way of learning. Academically, I achieved 4 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, and 3 Grade 7s at GCSE across Triple Science, Maths, and English. I understand that exams can feel overwhelming, so I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. My goal isn't just to help students improve their grades, but to help them develop a genuine understanding of the subject and enjoy learning along the way. I also enjoy supporting students as they plan their next steps in education, helping them feel confident and prepared for whatever comes next, having recently been through the process myself. :) Outside of my studies, I enjoy art, keeping active at the gym, and spending time with friends and family. These hobbies help me maintain a good balance between work and personal life, and I believe they're a reminder of how important it is to look after your wellbeing while studying. I strive to bring that same positive and encouraging attitude into every lesson, helping students feel motivated, supported, and capable of reaching their full potential.

Student learning with a tutor online

Need a Biology Tutor to Help Your Child Succeed?

Biology often starts becoming more difficult when students move beyond memorising facts and begin applying scientific knowledge to unfamiliar questions, data analysis and extended written answers. Topics such as genetics, immunity and cell biology can feel especially overwhelming once exams require deeper explanation and stronger scientific vocabulary.

At this stage, many families begin exploring extra academic support outside school. Some choose a GCSE Biology tutor for subject-specific revision, while others compare support from an A Level Science tutor or a Chemistry tutor online when students are balancing multiple science subjects together.

Clear explanations, structured revision and regular exam practice often help students feel more confident approaching Biology assessments.

Online Biology tutoring usually starts from around £25-£30 per hour, depending on the tutor’s experience and the student’s level. GCSE lessons are often slightly lower in cost than advanced sixth-form support. Many families comparing support options look at tutor experience, exam-board familiarity and lesson structure before deciding to find a tutor that suits their child’s academic goals and learning style.
