Hello! I’m Cee, a first year undergraduate philosophy student at UCL. Having very recently navigated GCSEs and A-levels myself (and come out the other side successfully ), I know how intense exams can be. No subject is enjoyable when it doesn’t make sense, so my aim is to break down those difficult concepts with you so that you can not only achieve the best grades you can, but also enjoy the process!

I have been studying French and Spanish for over a decade and am currently pursuing Spanish at degree level. My own academic background includes grade 8 (A*) in both French and Spanish at GCSE, an A* in A-Level French, and an A in A-Level Spanish. For the past 9 months, I have been tutoring French and Spanish at GCSE and A-Level across Edexcel GCSE/IGCSE and AQA, with fantastic outcomes. This summer, my students achieved: • GCSE French Foundation – Grade 5 (highest grade possible) • GCSE French Higher – Grade 8 (A*) • A-Level Spanish – Grade A More results are pending, but feedback suggests equally positive performances. I take pride in the progress my students make—whether it’s helping a student secure a solid pass at Foundation level, or pushing a motivated Higher or A-Level student to achieve top grades. I also mentor sixth formers through the personal statement process, with my students receiving 4–5 university offers each. My teaching style: I always begin with a diagnostic assessment to identify strengths and areas for development. From there, I design a clear programme of weekly lessons, exercises, and homework. A big part of excelling in GCSEs and A-Levels is exam readiness, so I make sure my students are fully acclimatised to the papers—walking into the exam hall with confidence and no surprises. Above all, I am passionate about languages and about supporting young people. Whether a student is building confidence from the ground up or striving for the top grades, I adapt my approach to bring out the very best in them.

I have extensive experience in education and tutoring, specializing in creative and language-based learning. As a French teacher at Alliance Française (2022–2023), I designed and delivered engaging lessons using the FLE method, managing groups of up to 15 children and providing tailored feedback to support their learning. At Oasis Nurture (2024), I used art as a tool for emotional resilience, leading therapeutic workshops for underprivileged children, mentoring assistants, and curating an exhibition of their work. Since 2021, I have been a private tutor, offering one-on-one lessons in French, Art History, and Cambridge application preparation. I have successfully guided students through personal statements, interview techniques, and subject-specific knowledge, with one student gaining admission to Cambridge. My current role as creative health and outreach curator at Looking Forward (2024–present) involves designing community-based art programmes to support children's well-being, collaborating with institutions like Whitechapel Gallery and Serpentine Galleries to make art more inclusive and accessible. Additionally, as an education and outreach volunteer at the Whipple Museum (2024), I developed strategies to make complex topics engaging and understandable for the public. Through these roles, I have developed strong teaching, mentoring, and curriculum design skills, with a particular focus on inclusive and creative learning.

As a social sciences student at Durham University, I am uniquely equipped to combine a holistic approach and a more in-depth approach to my tutoring, depending on the individual learning style of each student. I can tutor students of a wide range of abilities, from beginner to advanced, in French and English Literature, having achieved A*s and 9’s in both subjects at A-Level and GCSE, respectively. I can also tutor English Language up to GCSE standard, having achieved grade 9 when I sat the exam. I graduated from Wycombe Abbey School in 2023, where I obtained twelve 9’s and an 8 in my GCSEs, and four A*s at A-Level. I have done a range of informal tutoring for GCSE and Common Entrance, and have also volunteered as an English Teaching Assistant in a local primary school. From my personal experience of being slightly less confident in certain subjects and from tutoring others, I found I really enjoy helping students achieve their full potential and boosting their confidence, especially in subjects that may not come naturally to them. I am conscious that everyone has their own unique learning style, so I will tailor my lesson plan to each student’s personal aims in order to make sessions engaging and interactive. I have full working proficiency in French, and can provide assistance with all aspects of the exam, including listening, reading, writing and grammar. Having completed several intensive language courses in France, one of my strengths as a French tutor lies in conversation practice - I can therefore also help with the oral exam, including the Independent Research Project, implementing complex sentence structures, presentation technique and using sophisticated vocabulary. While I can tutor for all exam specifications, I will be of particular use in AQA A-Level and AQA GCSE, as these are the exam boards I sat at school. For English Literature, I can cover a wide range of skills such as essay technique, text analysis (play, book, or poem), grammar and language. While I can tutor a wide variety of texts depending on the exam board, I can provide specialised knowledge in the following texts: Hamlet, The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath, The Duchess of Malfi, Paradise Lost, A Streetcar Named Desire, Purple Hibiscus, The Crucible, Jane Eyre, and Romeo and Juliet. I can provide support with a broad range of resources and key skills, especially with the CIE GCSE and the OCR A-Level specifications. For English Language, I can also provide useful resources and support with all aspects of the exam paper, including comprehension, grammar and the extended writing section. As I sat the CIE GCSE exam, I can provide specialised knowledge of this specification.

I’m an incoming UCL Undergraduate on one of the most prestigious language courses in the world. I received A*AAA in my A-Levels, the three As being single digits below the A* grade boundary, including a 99% score in my spanish speaking exam and a 96% score in my french speaking exam. I would love to help other young students during this stressful time to take advantage of my up-to-date current affairs and essay writing knowledge, as well as the tried and tested revision methods I have learnt, which I believe are invaluable given the lack of language resources across schools in the U.K. I would focus on a student centric teaching style, incorporating much active recall for optimised learning. For Politics; we would work collaboratively to analyse recent political events and incorporate these into detailed essay plans, for Spanish and French; focussing heavily on spoken content revision and speaking technique, as well as working through resources to improve vocabulary bases and essay writing at both A-Level and GCSE. I would also be happy to mark any work completed outside of sessions and go through these together. I've been tutoring for over two years, working with students across Maths, English Language & Literature, French, Spanish and Geography. I've taught learners at different levels and stages, and I tailor my approach depending on what each subject and each student actually needs. Every student I've worked with has improved by at least one grade within 8 weeks. That includes taking students from failing GCSE Maths to passing, giving them a level of confidence in the subject they didn't have before. With languages, I've helped students who were nervous and too scared to speak go from staying silent in lessons to properly holding a conversation, simply by making mistakes feel like a normal part of learning rather than something to be afraid of. My sessions are bespoke to you rather than built around a fixed syllabus, and they adapt as you progress, so we're never working from a plan that's stopped being useful. I lean heavily on real world examples to make each subject click, because in my experience most students don't lack ability, they lack a reason to care about the material in front of them. Once that reason is there, progress tends to follow quickly. I'm trilingual, with French and Spanish to C1 level and Catalan to B2, alongside a TEFL qualification, passed with Merit.
