Hi, I’m Iseabhail! I’m currently an undergraduate student at the University of St Andrews studying French, Arabic, and Persian. I achieved A*s in both French and English Literature at A-Level, as well as an 8 in French, and a 9 in English Literature at GCSE. I’ve focused on building a strong academic foundation that is rooted in a deep love for Literature and Modern Languages which allows me to communicate complex ideas clearly. Through my experience as a Class Rep for Persian at university, I advocate for fellow learners and bring leadership and communication directly to my tutoring. My journey began through informal tutoring and mentoring, supporting my sister, her friends, and family friends through their own exams. This experience introduced me to the various styles of teaching required to help students progress and understand different ideas or concepts. I pride myself on adapting my teaching style to fit each individual, ensuring they don’t just ‘learn’ the content, but truly engage with and enjoy it. I am currently studying French and Italian at Durham University. I am really passionate about teaching students, and having taught English to young French children for two months in Guadeloupe, as well as teaching a wide range of UK based students on the Global Impact initiative, I thoroughly enjoy watching the students I tutor grow in ability and confidence. I’m Alanah, I study French and Russian at UCL, with A-levels in Maths, French and Latin. I have a year of tutoring experience, working with children in the age range of 9-18. I enjoy helping students to excel in their studies, help them to achieve their best possible result, as well as boost their academic confidence.

As a social sciences student at Durham University, I am uniquely equipped to combine a holistic approach and a more in-depth approach to my tutoring, depending on the individual learning style of each student. I can tutor students of a wide range of abilities, from beginner to advanced, in French and English Literature, having achieved A*s and 9’s in both subjects at A-Level and GCSE, respectively. I graduated from Wycombe Abbey School in 2023, where I obtained twelve 9’s and an 8 in my GCSEs, and four A*s at A-Level. I have done a range of informal tutoring for GCSE and Common Entrance, and have also volunteered as an English Teaching Assistant in a local primary school. From my personal experience of being slightly less confident in certain subjects and from tutoring others, I found I really enjoy helping students achieve their full potential and boosting their confidence, especially in subjects that may not come naturally to them. I am conscious that everyone has their own unique learning style, so I will tailor my lesson plan to each student’s personal aims in order to make sessions engaging and interactive. I have full working proficiency in French, and can provide assistance with all aspects of the exam, including listening, reading, writing and grammar. Having completed several intensive language courses in France, one of my strengths as a French tutor lies in conversation practice - I can therefore also help with the oral exam, including the Independent Research Project, implementing complex sentence structures, presentation technique and using sophisticated vocabulary. While I can tutor for all exam specifications, I will be of particular use in AQA A-Level and AQA GCSE, as these are the exam boards I sat at school. For English Literature, I can cover a wide range of skills such as essay technique, text analysis (play, book, or poem), grammar and language. While I can tutor a wide variety of texts depending on the exam board, I can provide specialised knowledge in the following texts: Hamlet, The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath, The Duchess of Malfi, Paradise Lost, A Streetcar Named Desire, Purple Hibiscus, The Crucible, Jane Eyre, and Romeo and Juliet. I can provide support with a broad range of resources and key skills, especially with the CIE GCSE and the OCR A-Level specifications. For English Language, I can also provide useful resources and support with all aspects of the exam paper, including comprehension, grammar and the extended writing section. As I sat the CIE GCSE exam, I can provide specialised knowledge of this specification.

I’m Luke, an academic scholar and reading Classics at Christ Church , Oxford (first class honours in all years so far).
