Hello, I'm Isla! I recently graduated from Durham University with a first-class degree in Biological Sciences. During my second and third years at university, I formally tutored students at various levels up to A-Levels. I greatly enjoy teaching and have been doing informal tutoring throughout my educational journey from GCSEs. I am keen to help students understand, engage with, and enjoy the content they are learning! I tutored Biology A-Level during my university years. My teaching style focuses on question-and-answer methods, with exam and study questions helping further enhance the student's knowledge of the subject, which helped me achieve 8/9s in GSCE science subjects and an A* in A-Level Biology. However, I will alter lessons to complement the student's needs. I explore anything the students don't understand until they feel confident about the material, using visual aids to reinforce any particular areas of difficulty. I also like to bring in extra material related to the everyday world they see and the information they are learning about. I will always work to improve their confidence in themselves and their skills. Furthermore, I have developed acute skills in writing scientific essays, literature reviews, and designing an ecology project. Therefore, I can provide feedback and offer any aid to those who want to improve in any of these areas. During my work experience and while volunteering for a SHINE project, I worked with younger kids (KS2) to provide English lessons. I immensely enjoyed teaching this subject and am enthusiastic about English. I obtained an English Literature scholarship for my A-level education, achieved an A* for English Literature A-level, and am spending my current year after my university degree working on a novel. I would love to help any student find a passion for creative writing or analysis of literature, which allows them to prepare before they go into KS3 or GCSEs. In my free time, I work on a fiction novel, sew, or hike in the wilderness. I am interested in mycology, spending lots of time looking for and identifying various fruiting fungi, and zoology, enjoying any time spent with animals! Hi! I'm Oscar, and I'm a third-year student at the University of Warwick studying Computer Science. Having been through the pressure of GCSEs, A-levels, and UCAS, I understand the pressures students face and have a relaxed yet careful approach to tutoring. This includes ensuring content is thoroughly understood through many examples and exam questions, as well as focusing on exam technique by utilising examiners' reports and mark schemes provided by exam boards to help students write the best answers possible. Hi! My name is Muneeb. My approach to teaching is centred around you, every student is different and as a result has different needs and teaching styles that they respond to. I aim to work with students to understand how best to achieve success. My maths and physics background gives me a logical mindset with which I approach teaching, I can systematically work through the gaps in a student’s knowledge and identify the underlying issue hindering them from achieving their full potential and then provide the necessary support to help them thrive. I’m a Masters student at the University of Sussex where I am studying Quantum Technology & management and currently averaging at a high 1st. This follows my undergraduate in physics from University College London (UCL) and my A levels in Maths, Chemistry & Physics in which I achieved A grades. I have informal experience working with children with autism, so I understand the extra level of care that’s required to engage neurodiverse children, particularly with regards to understanding the child’s needs as well as their comfort levels and routines.
