Hi, my name is Max! I’m currently a first-year student at the University of Warwick studying History and Politics. I am looking to tutor students at both A-Level and GCSE (History) levels and help them get the best possible grade. Before university, I took a year to travel the world, giving me valuable life experience, meaning I am mature, reliable, and patient, and will bring these skills alongside my subject knowledge and a positive energy to help as a tutor. I have success in these subjects, achieving an A* in History and an A in Politics at A-Level, as well as seven Grade 9’s at GCSE, including in History. I studied GCSE History (Edexcel), taking the Cold War, Weimar & Nazi Germany, and Elizabethan England topics. At A-Level History (OCR) I took the topics of Russia 1894-1941, Colonialism to Independence (British Empire), and Alfred & the Making of England (Anglo-Saxons). I also did a personal study essay on the factors motivating the USA in the Vietnam War and an Extended Project Qualification on the Cuban Revolution, achieving an A*. I did A-Level Politics (Edexcel) and can help students prepare for either UK politics, US politics, or ideologies (including Feminism). I can help students revise and prepare for exams on any of these topics, and have a keen interest in them myself. I am a strong believer that for humanities subjects the best way to revise and prepare for exams is to plan essay questions, and I can help students in the best way to do this (ensuring that students incorporate what the examiner is looking for). I am also happy to help students recap their knowledge on particular parts of the course and ensure understanding of the fundamental concepts, ideas, definitions, and examples. I also have some direct experience as a tutor, as I acted as a mentor for Numeracy and Literacy for students between Years 7-9, helping young students progress in Maths and English. As an undergraduate student, my interests lie largely in modern history, looking at revolutions, colonialism (and decolonisation), and how the modern world was made (ranging from travel and epidemics, to slavery and the environment). I am also studying the history of the Middle East, looking at oil in Iran and Arabia, the Palestine conflict in Israel, and the broader issue of Islamic militarism. In Politics, I am looking at core political concepts and ideas, ideologies, and theories of international relations and global governance. I can bring my knowledge from this and my experience as a GCSE/A-Level student to help students prepare for their exams or generally improve their foundation in History and/or Politics. Hi! My name is Ihab and I am a LSE student studying History and Politics and currently averaging a high 2.1. I have studied a range of History topics from the Ottoman Empire, the Tudors and the Qing Empire which I enjoy. My approach to tutoring is like a conversation in which I prefer to question and prompt my student so they can grow their knowledge within my lessons. This would be through teaching them concepts and information then applying them to past paper questions, as well as my own that I have created. I can adjust the style of my lessons to my students preference in which I aim to find gaps in knowledge and then underlying issues that prevent them from fulfilling their full potential. I am an experienced tutor, as I have been tutoring for nearly 3 years with 2 of them face to face lessons in students houses in which I taught kids from KS1-KS4. Hi there! I'm Ramiya and I'm a first-year Durham student studying Physics and Philosophy. I've had previous experience as tutor, helping build confidence and work ethic specifically in subjects Maths and English, from KS3 up to A-levels. At A-levels, I studied Physics, Maths and Further Maths, for which I respectively acheived A, A* and A* and at GCSEs, I achieved seven 9s and two 8s. Hi, I'm Emily and I study English at the University of St Andrews. I'm passionate about education and first discovered my love for teaching when I began tutoring Year 11 students for their IGCSE English exams in Sixth Form. It was so rewarding to watch their confidence grow and grades improve, and I would love to help your child to do the same. As someone who studies English Literature at university and also studied history and Latin at A-Level, I have lots of experience with textual analysis and essay writing. I am a second-year LLB Law student at the University of Warwick, predicted a First Class degree. I achieved 10 Grade 9s at GCSE and ranked 1st in my A-Level English Language cohort with a 95% score. The academic record is there. More importantly, so is the method behind it. For the past three years I have worked as a qualified Swimming Instructor, teaching 30+ children weekly across all ages and ability levels. That experience taught me something no degree can: every student needs a different explanation, and your job as a teacher is to find it. That is exactly how I approach every subject I teach. I teach English Language at GCSE and A-Level, English Literature at IGCSE, History at IGCSE, and Economics at A-Level. Across every subject, my approach is the same: mark scheme mastery, structured note-taking systems, exam technique built from real experience, and live feedback on past papers. I do not teach students to memorise. I teach them to think like an examiner. I have seen firsthand what separates students who plateau at a Grade 6 from those who break through to Grade 9. The gap is almost never intelligence. It is method, and that is exactly what I provide.
