Hi! My name is Ihab and I am a LSE student studying History and Politics and currently averaging a high 2.1. I have studied a range of History topics from the Ottoman Empire, the Tudors and the Qing Empire which I enjoy. My approach to tutoring is like a conversation in which I prefer to question and prompt my student so they can grow their knowledge within my lessons. This would be through teaching them concepts and information then applying them to past paper questions, as well as my own that I have created. I can adjust the style of my lessons to my students preference in which I aim to find gaps in knowledge and then underlying issues that prevent them from fulfilling their full potential. Hi there! I'm Ramiya and I'm a first-year Durham student studying Physics and Philosophy. Hi, my name is Max! I’m currently a first-year student at the University of Warwick studying History and Politics. I am looking to tutor students at both A-Level and GCSE (History) levels and help them get the best possible grade. Before university, I took a year to travel the world, giving me valuable life experience, meaning I am mature, reliable, and patient, and will bring these skills alongside my subject knowledge and a positive energy to help as a tutor. I have success in these subjects, achieving an A* in History and an A in Politics at A-Level, as well as seven Grade 9’s at GCSE, including in History. I studied GCSE History (Edexcel), taking the Cold War, Weimar & Nazi Germany, and Elizabethan England topics. I can help students revise and prepare for exams on any of these topics, and have a keen interest in them myself. I am a strong believer that for humanities subjects the best way to revise and prepare for exams is to plan essay questions, and I can help students in the best way to do this (ensuring that students incorporate what the examiner is looking for). I am also happy to help students recap their knowledge on particular parts of the course and ensure understanding of the fundamental concepts, ideas, definitions, and examples. I also have some direct experience as a tutor, as I acted as a mentor for Numeracy and Literacy for students between Years 7-9, helping young students progress in Maths and English. As an undergraduate student, my interests lie largely in modern history, looking at revolutions, colonialism (and decolonisation), and how the modern world was made (ranging from travel and epidemics, to slavery and the environment). I am also studying the history of the Middle East, looking at oil in Iran and Arabia, the Palestine conflict in Israel, and the broader issue of Islamic militarism. In Politics, I am looking at core political concepts and ideas, ideologies, and theories of international relations and global governance. My name is Lukas, I am 23 years old and have recently graduated from a master's in Renaissance literature at St. Hilda's College, Oxford University, previously studying at St. Catherine's in Oxford for my undergraduate English Literature degree. I have achieved a high merit in my MA and a high 2.1 in my undergraduate degree. I began tutoring to supplement my income during my studies. I am very passionate about teaching literature, having worked both online and in-person with my students, and I hope to complete a PHD in the coming years to allow me to teach literature as a career. I spent the year after graduation working as a learning support assistant in a school, which has broadened my teaching abilities to suit a variety of educational needs outside of one-to-one tutoring.
