Find Your Perfect Politics Tutor

Hey there! My name is Amelie, and I’m currently a fourth-year Politics and Philosophy student at the University of Liverpool, working towards a First-Class degree. I achieved an A in Politics at A-level and still use many of the resources and techniques that helped me succeed, with my grades consistently averaging between A and A*. I have a very interactive and supportive teaching style, and I love helping students build confidence in their own ideas and abilities. I believe learning works best when it feels engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each individual student. Outside of academics, I enjoy journalling and travelling, and I’ve been lucky enough to live in three different countries so far! (UAE, Canada and the UK). Those experiences have made me very open-minded, curious, and excited to keep learning more about the world and the people in it. I love bringing that enthusiasm into my teaching as well. I’m really passionate about helping students achieve strong grades while also genuinely enjoying the subject, and I’d love for us to work together to help you reach your goals!

Hi, I’m Onyiu, a passionate tutor with 1 year of tutoring experience, dedicated to helping students build confidence in A-Level Psychology, IGCSE First Language English, and IGCSE Global Perspectives. As a second-year psychology student at the University of Bath (with an achieved First Class mark in first-year), I am able to constantly build onto my own learning and understanding of the field whilst simultaneously imparting this onto my students. This enables me to be able to provide that extra depth in my lessons. Through tutoring, I want to help other students reach their full academic potential, regardless of the academic level they are currently working at, regardless of whether they themselves believe they are capable of doing so. I want to be the academic cheerleader for students that I wish I had when I was struggling in school. What sets me apart from most tutors is I know all too well what it feels like to struggle academically. To grind nonstop in the discouraging absence of results armed with nothing but unwavering grit and determination to prove your own academic potential to yourself. But I also know what it feels like to exceed my own expectations, and I want to help others do the same. In terms of my other accomplishments, I have written, edited, and published a non-fiction introductory book to Psychology - "Maybe You Can Read Minds Too: The Only Introduction to Psychology You'll Ever Need (or want)", which is available for purchase on Amazon. In 2024, I also won Northeastern University London's Essay Competition for Psychology, with my essay titled: "To what extent do mental factors impact ageing?" In my IGCSEs, I achieved A* (highest achievable) in IGCSE First Language English and Literature (CIE). For sixth form, I studied at Cheltenham Ladies College and achieved an A in A-Level Psychology (AQA). Having written an EPQ has also equipped me with highly effective time management skills. I believe this will significantly contribute to my effectiveness as a tutor, alongside the empathy I have cultivated having experienced the countless trials and tribulations of my own academic career.

Hello, my name is Shayan, and I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor currently studying Politics, Philosophy and Law at the University of Warwick, one of the UK’s top 10 universities. Having recently completed my A-Levels, I achieved outstanding results, including an A* in Law and an A in Politics, demonstrating both academic excellence and a deep understanding of the subjects I teach. As someone who has recently navigated GCSEs and A-Levels successfully, I understand exactly what examiners are looking for and how students can maximise their marks. My teaching is informed by extensive experience with AQA, Edexcel and OCR-style examination techniques, helping students not only understand content but also develop the exam skills needed to achieve top grades. I specialise in tutoring Law, Politics and GCSE subjects, providing personalised lessons tailored to each student’s strengths, weaknesses and learning style. My approach focuses on building confidence, improving critical thinking and developing effective revision and exam strategies. I believe that every student can succeed when given the right support and guidance. Alongside my academic achievements, I have developed strong communication and leadership skills through professional experience in both legal and administrative environments, including work experience at a solicitors’ firm and a role within a busy medical practice. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and work effectively with people of all ages. Outside of academics, I have competed at county level cricket for both Warwickshire and Worcestershire and currently play 1st XI cricket in the Birmingham and District Premier League. Sport has taught me discipline, resilience and the importance of hard work, qualities I encourage in all of my students. I am passionate about helping young people reach their full potential and would be delighted to support your child on their academic journey.

Hi, my name is Max! I’m currently a first-year student at the University of Warwick studying History and Politics. I am looking to tutor students at both A-Level and GCSE (History) levels and help them get the best possible grade. Before university, I took a year to travel the world, giving me valuable life experience, meaning I am mature, reliable, and patient, and will bring these skills alongside my subject knowledge and a positive energy to help as a tutor. I have success in these subjects, achieving an A* in History and an A in Politics at A-Level, as well as seven Grade 9’s at GCSE, including in History. I studied GCSE History (Edexcel), taking the Cold War, Weimar & Nazi Germany, and Elizabethan England topics. At A-Level History (OCR) I took the topics of Russia 1894-1941, Colonialism to Independence (British Empire), and Alfred & the Making of England (Anglo-Saxons). I also did a personal study essay on the factors motivating the USA in the Vietnam War and an Extended Project Qualification on the Cuban Revolution, achieving an A*. I did A-Level Politics (Edexcel) and can help students prepare for either UK politics, US politics, or ideologies (including Feminism). I can help students revise and prepare for exams on any of these topics, and have a keen interest in them myself. I am a strong believer that for humanities subjects the best way to revise and prepare for exams is to plan essay questions, and I can help students in the best way to do this (ensuring that students incorporate what the examiner is looking for). I am also happy to help students recap their knowledge on particular parts of the course and ensure understanding of the fundamental concepts, ideas, definitions, and examples. I also have some direct experience as a tutor, as I acted as a mentor for Numeracy and Literacy for students between Years 7-9, helping young students progress in Maths and English. As an undergraduate student, my interests lie largely in modern history, looking at revolutions, colonialism (and decolonisation), and how the modern world was made (ranging from travel and epidemics, to slavery and the environment). I am also studying the history of the Middle East, looking at oil in Iran and Arabia, the Palestine conflict in Israel, and the broader issue of Islamic militarism. In Politics, I am looking at core political concepts and ideas, ideologies, and theories of international relations and global governance. I can bring my knowledge from this and my experience as a GCSE/A-Level student to help students prepare for their exams or generally improve their foundation in History and/or Politics. I look forward to meeting and teaching you!
