I am Ibrahim Sillah, incoming third year student at the University of Leeds, studying Electronic and Electrical Engineering. I achieved high 1st classes in both my first and second year of university and will be carrying that momentum into my third and fourth year. I studied maths, physics and chemistry at A-Levels and obtained A*A*A respectively and for my IGCSE, I studied 9 subjects and got 6A*s, 2As and a B. I have been tutoring for about 3-4 years now, predominantly in maths for GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level students as well as further maths for GCSE and IGCSE students. These have all been success stories as my approach ensures students wants and needs, high-quality delivery depending on the student in need. As hobbies, I play football regularly and informally tutor my younger brother in his academic ventures.

I’ve always believed that the best investment one can make is in learning, especially when it’s done with patience, clarity, and care. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol, earning my MEng (Integrated Master’s), but I’ve found some of my most meaningful work happens not in labs or lecture halls, but one-on-one with a student and a problem to solve. As a tutor, I’ve helped students from age 6 to 20 grow more confident in mathematics, from foundational skills all the way to A-Level, IB, and university preparation. I don’t believe in shortcuts or gimmicks. I believe in showing up, explaining things clearly, and meeting students where they are. Every student is different. My job is to listen, guide, and help them build understanding step by step. I also mentor students interested in engineering careers, drawing from my own experience in the field. And in my work with AI training, I craft and evaluate advanced mathematics content to improve how machines “think.” But whether I’m teaching a 12-year-old fractions or reviewing postgraduate-level prompts, the goal stays the same: to make the complex simple, and to help others see the beauty in problem-solving. Good tutoring, like good learning, is built on consistency, trust, and a genuine interest in the person on the other side of the table. That’s what I bring to every session.

I am a devoted educator committed to supporting others as they aim to achieve their potential. My colourful educational and professional background places me in an ideal position to help others understand complex information. I was born in Oldham, Manchester but grew up in Leicester in the East Midlands where I attended primary and secondary school, sixth-form, and university. I excelled at secondary school but found it tough at sixth-form, although I didn't help myself by picking five subjects in the first year: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, and Further Maths. After attending sixth-form, I studied on a MPhys Physics with Astrophysics degree at the University of Leicester and graduated in 2017. I then completed my PhD in Physics at the same university before becoming a STEM Teaching Fellow in the physics department. My area of research was/is planetary science and I study the interaction of Saturn's atmosphere and its aurorae. During my PhD, I was very fortunate to get the opportunity to travel to Hawaii, USA and Sendai, Japan for telescope observing and an international conference, respectively. I have previously worked at both the National Space Centre in Leicester and the Royal Observatory Greenwich in London. Both roles were public-facing and I interacted with visiting members of the public. In my current role I teach mathematics to foundation year students at the University of Leicester which includes lecturing, setting and marking exams, and 1-to-1 tutoring.

Hello! I’m Koby and am an honours graduate from the University of Cambridge with a background in natural sciences and medicine. With over 7 years of tutoring experience, I focus on a holistic, engaging and student-centric approach to teaching, whilst sharing my passion and love for learning! Understanding a topic is one thing but understanding what the examiners are looking for can sometimes be a whole other issue. Using my experience, I tailor my lessons to the student’s needs to help them achieve both, whilst utilising my extensive bank of exam questions to guide the student with worked examples and build their confidence. I also share effective learning strategies and tips that make learning enjoyable and easier. I have been a Private Tutor for the last 9 years, tutoring students who have been finding their GCSE and A-Level curriculum difficult. Overall, I have taught more than 100 students over the last 9 years and helped them achieve their desired grades and university. If you have the passion and desire to do well in your studies, I will help you achieve it regardless of your current grades. I have an Honours Degree from Imperial College London for BEng Joint Maths and Computer Science. I have also achieved A*A*A*A in my A-Level for Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science as well as 8A*s, 3As and 1B in my GCSEs. Lesson Structure: My online lessons mainly happen through Microsoft OneNote. Every OneNote notebook I have for a student keeps track of the following three parts: - a curriculum checklist to make sure our lessons are kept on track, - lesson notes to keep track of everything we worked on together, and - mini-mock exams to help students get used to exam situations. I keep my lesson from 1 to 2 hours, where we use the first 30 mins to cover anything you need help with immediately. For the rest of the lesson, we work on topics that you have found challenging/difficult, making sure we are on top of everything covered in school. If we have managed to cover all of those topics, we move on to topics that will be covered in school. This will help give the student a head start and stay ahead of your class, which will help make school lessons easier. Furthermore, I like to keep students on track with their independent studying outside of our lessons by giving mini-mock exams approximately every 2 months (given we do lessons twice a week). These mini-mock exams help students get acclimatised to exam situations and provide motivation for students to do independent studying outside school and our private lessons. Each mini-mock contains exam-style questions with a couple of difficult/tricky questions to help students prepare for the worst-case scenario when it comes to the actual exam they will be sitting. If needed, I provide proper mock exams to help recreate an exam situation to help students gauge their shortcomings and help them improve themselves.
