Are you struggling to keep up with math class? Don't worry, I'm here to help! As a math tutor, I can provide the guidance you need to succeed in this challenging subject. My passion for teaching math began during my internship at Bishop Challoner Catholic College and Haybridge High School, where I shadowed experienced teachers, observed lessons, and even had the chance to plan and deliver my own lessons to students of different ages and abilities. Through these experiences, I learned how to tailor my teaching style to each student's individual needs and help them overcome their math-related challenges. In addition to my internships, I also have experience as a child workforce assistant coach for the CoachBright Volunteering Programme, where I worked with school pupils from low-income backgrounds to help them improve their grades, confidence, and access to university. I have also served as an AS Maths mentor at Bournville College and a Year 5 teaching assistant at Bordesley Green Primary School, where I provided extra support to students through clear explanations and creative visual aids. My approach to math tutoring is personalised, patient, and student-centered. Whether you need help with basic arithmetic or advanced calculus, I will work with you to identify your strengths and weaknesses, set realistic goals, and create a customized learning plan that suits your needs and learning style. Don't let math anxiety hold you back any longer. Contact me to schedule a session and take the first step towards math success!

I’ve come to deeply appreciate the impact of great teaching —something I was extremely privileged to have experienced firsthand during sixth form. The ease I felt when studying for GCSEs and A-Levels, knowing that I was receiving excellent teaching, is something I believe all students should experience. It is this which has inspired me to help students who are in the same position now that I was once in not so long ago. The rewarding nature of this work is something I have come to realise through tutoring for the 11+ examinations over the past year. I achieved 3A*s in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry A-Levels, alongside 10 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s at GCSE, by refining a focused, exam-strategy-driven approach. I applied the same method to UCAT preparation (scoring a 2980 Band 1, amongst the top 6% of test takers in 2023) and interview preparation; securing three medical offers, from Barts and the London, St George’s and Imperial. I've since created and delivered an interview tutorial for Year 12s with the PotMed branch of Imperial Muslim Medics, been a mock interviewer in PotMed’s mock MMI circuits, and created and conducted several mock interviews with two applicants (privately) — both of whom received medicine offers in the 2024–25 cycle. Now, I aim to help others achieve the same. For A-Levels and GCSEs, a typical lesson structure would involve initially identifying the student’s current level of understanding of a topic and their weak points, then building on from what they already know, carefully maintaining a balance between guided practice questions, independent work and then finally discussion and feedback. Over the long-term, I aim to implement a regular past-paper question-based strategy to master exam technique. For interviews, I aim to tailor sessions to each student’s target universities (especially for Imperial, Barts and St Georges), helping them build the soft skills and technical knowledge (for example medical ethics, motivations, or knowledge of the NHS), to succeed and secure their dream medical school offers.

Experienced Maths & Economics Tutor | Tailored Lessons for Top Grades Hi! I'm a dedicated and experienced tutor with over six years of teaching expertise in Mathematics and Economics. I hold a degree in Economics and Statistics from University College London (UCL) and have a deep passion for helping students unlock their academic potential. Whether you're preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, or simply looking to build confidence in the subject, I'm here to support you every step of the way. I've worked with students of all abilities, and I pride myself on creating a supportive, engaging, and personalised learning environment—both in person and online. I've taught extensively across all major UK exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and WJEC, so I’m very familiar with the expectations and assessment styles of each. My work with MyTutor's National School Programme has allowed me to deliver both one-on-one and small group sessions (groups of up to 4 students), helping learners from a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles. I consistently adapt my materials and methods to suit individual student needs, ensuring that every session is purposeful and tailored. From core concepts to exam technique, I’ve helped many students gain clarity, confidence, and improved grades. My approach is patient, flexible, and highly structured. I believe that no two students learn the same, so I tailor every lesson based on the individual’s goals, pace, and preferred learning style. I use a topic tracker to monitor progress and identify areas to revisit, and I regularly assign homework to reinforce learning between sessions. As exams approach, I shift the focus to exam paper walkthroughs, past paper practice, and technique coaching—so students don’t just know the content, they know how to maximise their marks. Having been through the exam system myself, I understand the importance of building confidence as well as knowledge, and I always aim to bring clarity, encouragement, and structure to each session.

Very big improvement given a short period of time with only a small time period of about 3 months my daughter in year 10 has gone from a level U to a level 4 in her maths grade with her tutor Jose. He is a very good maths teacher and has very easy ways of doing hard GCSE maths. What my daughter used to find immensely hard is now very easy. Jose is sadly not her tutor anymore but this was a very great experience and will be looking forward to using this company again for my daughter to get high grades and pass her GCSE’s thank you very much.

Excellent service, highly recommented Booked a block of Lessons leading up to my sons maths exam as maths was his weakest subject and he felt he wanted help. Pia (the tutor) was patient and professional and explained things in a way my son could easily understand. He looked forward to each lesson and felt the lessons gave him the confidence, knowledge and understanding he needed to face his maths GCSE exam. He thinks he did really well in his first exam and we are so pleased we invested in the lessons leading up to his GCSE’s. Can’t recommend Edumentors and Pia enough. Really professional service and well worth the money.

The tutoring times were really flexible and the tutor themselves (Izzy Mitchell) was amazing. The level of communication allowed between the student and tutor made it easy for my questions to be answered quickly. So thank you so much Edumentors and Izzy! Personally, I went from a 6 to a 9 in AQA English literature in just a few weeks so if you are thinking about it, give it a go!

Absolutely superb. Helped my son move from a predicted D in Maths to an actual A, in year. Highly recommend both Edumentors and specifically Apoorv as a tutor. It was easy to set-up, pay and manage. Any issues were solved quickly and without fuss.

Fantastic Flexible German Tutoring We had Imogen from Edumentor tutoring my daughter for GCSE’s. Imogen is a fantastic tutor and through the year prepared my daughter enabling her to get a 9 in German. Edumentor were extremely flexible and helpful in ensuring we could have the sessions when we needed them the most. I would throughly recommend using them for your GCSE tutoring.
