I am a third-year Biochemistry Msci student at the University of Manchester with three years of experience tutoring GCSE students. My approach focuses on building a strong understanding of the subject content while also developing effective exam technique, which is essential for achieving top grades. Each session is tailored to the individual student, helping them apply their knowledge confidently across a variety of exam-style questions. I am passionate about making science and maths engaging and relatable. I incorporate real-world examples to spark interest and help students see the relevance of what they’re learning. I also ensure students understand the different contexts in which a topic may appear on an exam and the range of question types they might encounter, helping them feel fully prepared. To support learning outside of lessons, I can provide optional worksheets based on the material we've covered. I'm a first-year Aerospace Engineering student at Queen Mary University of London having recently completed A-levels in Maths, Physics and Sociology. I achieved DofE Gold which taught me the discipline and commitment I bring into every lesson. Outside of school, I have been boxing for three years, train at the gym, and play music at my church which keeps me focused and level-headed. I want to start tutoring as when I was in secondary, my maths grade wasn't on track and my school gave me a tutor which helped me achieve a 9 in GCSE. At the time I felt uneasy about it as I have never needed help especially with maths. Hi! My name is Rosie, and I am a 3rd year undergraduate student studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol, currently achieving a 1st class grade. This year I was also a finalist in the Undergraduate of the Year Awards! At the age of 14 I set up my own tutoring business, which has been running successfully for 5 years, and during this time I have provided a wide variety of online and in-person tutoring sessions, each one tailored to the individual needs of the student. I have experience working with pupils with a range of SEND needs, especially ADHD. In school, I achieved 10 grade 9 results at GCSE, and A*, A*, A*, A* at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I was also awarded the Physics attainment award for achieving the top grade in my sixth form, as well as a Bucks Young Scientist of the Year Award in Physics, in 2022. I have competed in multiple maths, chemistry and physics Olympiads throughout my school experience, often achieving gold awards in these events. I believe that these results show my skill and dedication to these subjects, as well as my ability to perform well in exams. A large part of my tutoring sessions focus on exam technique, so that students can access their full potential under the pressure of an exam situation. In 2023 I deferred my place at university to gain some more experience before entering undergraduate study, and for 3 months I worked full time in a secondary school as a teacher assistant. This has provided me with lots of classroom experience, helping students in their studies and organisational skills from Year 7 all the way up to Year 13. During this time I built up confidence and ability in teaching, with a keen focus on aiding SEND pupils. Hi! I’m Radhika, a Biomedical Sciences graduate from the University of Warwick, where I achieved an Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1) with a First-Class grade in my dissertation. I have a strong academic background in the sciences and previously completed the International Baccalaureate (IB), studying Biology at Higher Level and Mathematics at Standard Level. Having experienced the IB programme myself, I understand how challenging it can be to balance demanding subjects, coursework, revision and exam preparation. I have since mentored younger students preparing for and completing the IB, helping them understand difficult concepts, develop effective revision strategies and prepare for their exams.
