Tutoring will allow me to share the advice that I once received - and offer guidance wherever I can. As of February, I have offered weekly English literature/ language lessons for a GCSE student, providing me with the experience to confidently support students in their learning. I hope to make my lessons as accessible and affordable as I can - and I am open to any feedback on how I can make adjustments/ improvements. With your exam board and texts, I can gather, share and discuss a variety of example essays/ resources with you. My approach is one that encourages dynamic and open discussions to embrace the individual academic interests and passions of each student - and build a curiosity in the subject. This enables students to freely navigate the many interpretations and nuances offered by literary texts alongside the authorial intentions attached to them. To develop students' independent critical thinking and analytical skills, each lesson will keep the close analysis of language and structure as a focal point.

I am an IBDP graduate and current Architecture student at the University of Manchester. During the IB, I received best in class awards in English Literature and Design Technology. I know that grasping these more abstract subjects can feel tricky. But, by combining both analytical and creative teaching, I can help students gain confidence in working through and articulating complex ideas in a supportive, individualised environment.

I have extensive experience in education and tutoring, specializing in creative and language-based learning. As a French teacher at Alliance Française (2022–2023), I designed and delivered engaging lessons using the FLE method, managing groups of up to 15 children and providing tailored feedback to support their learning. At Oasis Nurture (2024), I used art as a tool for emotional resilience, leading therapeutic workshops for underprivileged children, mentoring assistants, and curating an exhibition of their work. Since 2021, I have been a private tutor, offering one-on-one lessons in French, Art History, and Cambridge application preparation. I have successfully guided students through personal statements, interview techniques, and subject-specific knowledge, with one student gaining admission to Cambridge. My current role as creative health and outreach curator at Looking Forward (2024–present) involves designing community-based art programmes to support children's well-being, collaborating with institutions like Whitechapel Gallery and Serpentine Galleries to make art more inclusive and accessible. Additionally, as an education and outreach volunteer at the Whipple Museum (2024), I developed strategies to make complex topics engaging and understandable for the public. Through these roles, I have developed strong teaching, mentoring, and curriculum design skills, with a particular focus on inclusive and creative learning.

Hi! I’m a third-year Integrated Master’s Biochemistry student at the University of Warwick, and I tutor GCSE and A Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Fine Art. I’ve always loved both science and art, so I’m particularly passionate about making complicated ideas easier to understand — whether that means working through a tricky Chemistry mechanism, tackling a difficult Maths problem, or developing an idea for a Fine Art project. I achieved A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Fine Art, and since starting university I’ve gained experience in undergraduate research, student leadership and creative design. I’ve also received two national design awards for my work. Before university, I was heavily involved in student mentoring and supporting younger students, and helping people gain confidence in subjects they find difficult is still one of my favourite parts of tutoring. My lessons are friendly, patient and adapted to the individual student. I want students to leave a session not just knowing the answer, but actually understanding how they got there — and feeling more confident about doing it themselves next time.

Hello, I'm Bette! I recently graduated from UCL with a first class degree in Philosophy. I have experience tutoring younger students in English, Physics, and History while at school, which I found incredibly rewarding. Through both tutoring and my degree, I have developed the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and adapt my teaching style to suit different learners.
