I am Ibrahim Sillah, incoming third year student at the University of Leeds, studying Electronic and Electrical Engineering. I achieved high 1st classes in both my first and second year of university and will be carrying that momentum into my third and fourth year. I studied maths, physics and chemistry at A-Levels and obtained A*A*A respectively and for my IGCSE, I studied 9 subjects and got 6A*s, 2As and a B. I have been tutoring for about 3-4 years now, predominantly in maths for GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level students as well as further maths for GCSE and IGCSE students. These have all been success stories as my approach ensures students wants and needs, high-quality delivery depending on the student in need. As hobbies, I play football regularly and informally tutor my younger brother in his academic ventures.

Hi, I’m Alfie — a recent Classics graduate from the University of Manchester with a deep love of language, literature, and big ideas. I tutor in Latin, Ancient Greek, English, and Religious Studies. I studied Latin at both GCSE and A-Level (achieving an A in each), before reading Classics at the University of Manchester, where I graduated with a 2:1. At university, I focused heavily on mastering Classical Languages — Latin and Ancient Greek — and even studied at the Novum Vivarium in Rome, a renowned school where all instruction is delivered entirely in spoken Latin. Alongside my language studies, I developed a strong interest in the cultural, literary, and philosophical dimensions of the ancient world — interests which naturally extend into English and Religious Studies. I’ve hosted a podcast with Luke Ranieri, one of the world’s foremost scholars in modern spoken Latin, where we explored topics ranging from grammar to deeper questions about meaning and tradition. I’ve now been tutoring for over a year across various platforms. My teaching style is grounded in curiosity and collaboration: I like to ask open-ended questions and guide students toward figuring things out for themselves. This is especially effective in subjects that require interpretation and reflection, like English and Religious Studies. One thing I often help students with is building confidence. Many pupils — especially in intellectually demanding subjects — struggle not with ability but with a fear of making mistakes. My lessons create a safe space where trial and error is encouraged and where even small wins are celebrated. Over time, I’ve seen this approach transform not just how students perform, but how they think. Outside tutoring, I’m a passionate language learner (I speak French and Italian and am learning Russian) and I enjoy playing guitar in my free time. Hello !! I am a fourth year medical student at the University of Cambridge. As a tutor, I hope to share my love of learning with many more students, allowing each one to reach the full potential. I achieved all grade nines at gcse level and a stars in maths, chemistry and biology at a level. As someone who was in the same place as many students only a couple of years ago, I know what the exams are like and how to prepare for each one most effectively. I hope to use to this to adapt my lessons to the needs of each student, to simplify complex concepts and prepare for exams. I am naturally social and approachable, and hope to be as supportive as possible as a tutor. I know it is not always easy to speak up in class and feel it is essential to create a place where students are able to ask any question or raise points of confusion. I spend part of the first lesson finding out the areas each student likes and finds confusing, working with the student and parents to make a plan for future lessons. Overall, I hope to provide an engaging approach to tutoring at all levels, one that allows each student to reach academic goals and enhances the confidence to do so. I am a Biomedical Engineering student at King's College London. I graduated from the French International School of Hong Kong, where I completed both the IB Diploma and IGCSEs. I achieved a score of 40/45 in the IB and earned 8 A grades and 2 A* grades in my IGCSEs. My IGCSE subjects included Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Computer Science, English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics. I have 3 years of tutoring experience, specialising in programming, 3D design, and STEM subjects. Hello! I am Jing Wen and I am from Singapore. I took the Singapore’s A Levels and achieved the UK equivalent of A* across all subjects, including Maths. I have just graduated from Accounting and Finance at the University of Warwick, with the highest course average in my cohort. I have also achieved first place in both my first and second year. I was previousely selected to tutor resit students for Finance in Year 2. I also previously volunteered to teach at a primary school. I believe that Math should not be complicated. Each session will be tailored based on the topic and your confidence level.

I am a devoted educator committed to supporting others as they aim to achieve their potential. My colourful educational and professional background places me in an ideal position to help others understand complex information. I was born in Oldham, Manchester but grew up in Leicester in the East Midlands where I attended primary and secondary school, sixth-form, and university. I excelled at secondary school but found it tough at sixth-form, although I didn't help myself by picking five subjects in the first year: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, and Further Maths. After attending sixth-form, I studied on a MPhys Physics with Astrophysics degree at the University of Leicester and graduated in 2017. I then completed my PhD in Physics at the same university before becoming a STEM Teaching Fellow in the physics department. My area of research was/is planetary science and I study the interaction of Saturn's atmosphere and its aurorae. During my PhD, I was very fortunate to get the opportunity to travel to Hawaii, USA and Sendai, Japan for telescope observing and an international conference, respectively. I have previously worked at both the National Space Centre in Leicester and the Royal Observatory Greenwich in London. Both roles were public-facing and I interacted with visiting members of the public. In my current role I teach mathematics to foundation year students at the University of Leicester which includes lecturing, setting and marking exams, and 1-to-1 tutoring.
