I am a Classics student at the University of Oxford as well as a native Russian speaker, and would be happy to tutor students to prepare them for GCSE, A-Level, or university entry for Greek and Latin, such as practising translation skills in preparation for examinations, as well as Russian to GCSE.

During my English degree at the University of Cambridge, I learnt the incomparable educational value of one-to-one discussion with a subject specialist. I am continuing my studies with the Cambridge MPhil course, using the communication skills and technical knowledge I have gained to provide highly-informed tutoring in Oxbridge applications and English-related subjects. I offer a tailored approach to each student that improves weaker skill areas through targeted exercises, while building confidence through rapport and using accessible introductions to complex key terms and ideas. At Cambridge, I have studied texts from every section of the GCSE & A Level syllabus at a First Class standard, and the rigourous course provided me with broad historical, cultural and philosophical knowledge to enrich textual study. I have worked with students ranging in ability and interest in the subject, so have developed strategies to encourage enthusiastic participation in learning, including the use of Quizlet flashcards, and constructive essay feedback. Effective communication is at the heart of English study; the tone of my lessons is pitched specifically for each individual, but is always friendly and enthusiastic. My name is Lisa, and I’m a graduate of the University of Cambridge, holding a degree in Modern and Medieval Languages (with a focus on French and German), as well as a strong academic foundation in Modern Languages, English, and Economics. I offer personalised, high-quality tutoring for students of all ages and abilities, specialising in French, German, Russian, and Economics across GCSE and A-Level curricula. I also teach English (language and literature) at any level and support younger learners preparing for 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, with a focus on English and verbal reasoning. With over five years of tutoring experience, I’m passionate about helping students not only excel academically but also develop confidence, independence, and a genuine interest in their subjects. Hi there! I’m Maria and I'm a 3rd year Maths student at the University of London (UCL). With over 4 years of tutoring experience, I focus on a holistic, engaging and student-centric approach to teaching, whilst sharing my passion and love for learning! Understanding a topic is one thing but understanding what the examiners are looking for can sometimes be a whole other issue. Using my experience, I tailor my lessons to the student’s needs to help them achieve both, whilst utilising my extensive bank of exam questions to guide the student with worked examples and build their confidence. I also share effective learning strategies and tips that make learning enjoyable and easier. This has helped many of my students achieve top grades and personally helped me achieve 10 9’s at GCSEs and 3 A*’s at A-Level/Pre-U in Maths, Further Maths and Economics. Hence, I specialise in teaching these subjects for students of all levels and ages. As well as cracking the code to exam technique, I am happy to mentor students applying for UCL. I am confident I can make a difference having excelled in the admissions exams as well as acing interviews in an empathetic and charismatic manner in order to receive offers from UCL, Cambridge, Oxford, and Imperial. In my free time, I am an avid chess player and sports and music enthusiast.
