Hi, I’m Iseabhail! I’m currently an undergraduate student at the University of St Andrews studying French, Arabic, and Persian. I achieved A*s in both French and English Literature at A-Level, as well as an 8 in French, and a 9 in English Literature at GCSE. I’ve focused on building a strong academic foundation that is rooted in a deep love for Literature and Modern Languages which allows me to communicate complex ideas clearly. As a social sciences student at Durham University, I am uniquely equipped to combine a holistic approach and a more in-depth approach to my tutoring, depending on the individual learning style of each student. I can tutor students of a wide range of abilities, from beginner to advanced, in French and English Literature, having achieved A*s and 9’s in both subjects at A-Level and GCSE, respectively. I can also tutor English Language up to GCSE standard, having achieved grade 9 when I sat the exam. I graduated from Wycombe Abbey School in 2023, where I obtained twelve 9’s and an 8 in my GCSEs, and four A*s at A-Level. I have done a range of informal tutoring for GCSE and Common Entrance, and have also volunteered as an English Teaching Assistant in a local primary school. From my personal experience of being slightly less confident in certain subjects and from tutoring others, I found I really enjoy helping students achieve their full potential and boosting their confidence, especially in subjects that may not come naturally to them. I am conscious that everyone has their own unique learning style, so I will tailor my lesson plan to each student’s personal aims in order to make sessions engaging and interactive. I have full working proficiency in French, and can provide assistance with all aspects of the exam, including listening, reading, writing and grammar. Having completed several intensive language courses in France, one of my strengths as a French tutor lies in conversation practice - I can therefore also help with the oral exam, including the Independent Research Project, implementing complex sentence structures, presentation technique and using sophisticated vocabulary. While I can tutor for all exam specifications, I will be of particular use in AQA A-Level and AQA GCSE, as these are the exam boards I sat at school. For English Literature, I can cover a wide range of skills such as essay technique, text analysis (play, book, or poem), grammar and language. While I can tutor a wide variety of texts depending on the exam board, I can provide specialised knowledge in the following texts: Hamlet, The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath, The Duchess of Malfi, Paradise Lost, A Streetcar Named Desire, Purple Hibiscus, The Crucible, Jane Eyre, and Romeo and Juliet. I can provide support with a broad range of resources and key skills, especially with the CIE GCSE and the OCR A-Level specifications. For English Language, I can also provide useful resources and support with all aspects of the exam paper, including comprehension, grammar and the extended writing section. As I sat the CIE GCSE exam, I can provide specialised knowledge of this specification.

I’ve always believed that the best investment one can make is in learning, especially when it’s done with patience, clarity, and care. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol, earning my MEng (Integrated Master’s), but I’ve found some of my most meaningful work happens not in labs or lecture halls, but one-on-one with a student and a problem to solve. As a tutor, I’ve helped students from age 6 to 20 grow more confident in mathematics, from foundational skills all the way to A-Level, IB, and university preparation. I don’t believe in shortcuts or gimmicks. I believe in showing up, explaining things clearly, and meeting students where they are. Every student is different. My job is to listen, guide, and help them build understanding step by step. I also mentor students interested in engineering careers, drawing from my own experience in the field. And in my work with AI training, I craft and evaluate advanced mathematics content to improve how machines “think.” But whether I’m teaching a 12-year-old fractions or reviewing postgraduate-level prompts, the goal stays the same: to make the complex simple, and to help others see the beauty in problem-solving. Hi! My name’s Alexandra. I am a BA History and Spanish student at the University of Leeds. I have been an academic tutor for two years now and I enjoy getting to know my students and helping them achieve their academic goals.
