Hi! My name is Luke, and I am a tutor of English, French & Music. I'm an fourth year MA student at the University of Glasgow, and speak fluent French having prior experience of living, working and studying in both Québec and France. I'm also a published and award-winning poet, and use my love for creative writing to guide my students in their own work. I have over 4 years of tutoring experience with Explore Learning and also privately. I offer a holistic approach to tutoring. As a social sciences student at Durham University, I am uniquely equipped to combine a holistic approach and a more in-depth approach to my tutoring, depending on the individual learning style of each student. I can tutor students of a wide range of abilities, from beginner to advanced, in French and English Literature, having achieved A*s and 9’s in both subjects at A-Level and GCSE, respectively. I can also tutor English Language up to GCSE standard, having achieved grade 9 when I sat the exam. I graduated from Wycombe Abbey School in 2023, where I obtained twelve 9’s and an 8 in my GCSEs, and four A*s at A-Level. I have done a range of informal tutoring for GCSE and Common Entrance, and have also volunteered as an English Teaching Assistant in a local primary school. From my personal experience of being slightly less confident in certain subjects and from tutoring others, I found I really enjoy helping students achieve their full potential and boosting their confidence, especially in subjects that may not come naturally to them. I am conscious that everyone has their own unique learning style, so I will tailor my lesson plan to each student’s personal aims in order to make sessions engaging and interactive. I have full working proficiency in French, and can provide assistance with all aspects of the exam, including listening, reading, writing and grammar. Having completed several intensive language courses in France, one of my strengths as a French tutor lies in conversation practice - I can therefore also help with the oral exam, including the Independent Research Project, implementing complex sentence structures, presentation technique and using sophisticated vocabulary. While I can tutor for all exam specifications, I will be of particular use in AQA A-Level and AQA GCSE, as these are the exam boards I sat at school. For English Literature, I can cover a wide range of skills such as essay technique, text analysis (play, book, or poem), grammar and language. While I can tutor a wide variety of texts depending on the exam board, I can provide specialised knowledge in the following texts: Hamlet, The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath, The Duchess of Malfi, Paradise Lost, A Streetcar Named Desire, Purple Hibiscus, The Crucible, Jane Eyre, and Romeo and Juliet. I can provide support with a broad range of resources and key skills, especially with the CIE GCSE and the OCR A-Level specifications. For English Language, I can also provide useful resources and support with all aspects of the exam paper, including comprehension, grammar and the extended writing section. As I sat the CIE GCSE exam, I can provide specialised knowledge of this specification.

I’ve always believed that the best investment one can make is in learning, especially when it’s done with patience, clarity, and care. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol, earning my MEng (Integrated Master’s), but I’ve found some of my most meaningful work happens not in labs or lecture halls, but one-on-one with a student and a problem to solve. As a tutor, I’ve helped students from age 6 to 20 grow more confident in mathematics, from foundational skills all the way to A-Level, IB, and university preparation. I don’t believe in shortcuts or gimmicks. I believe in showing up, explaining things clearly, and meeting students where they are. Every student is different. My job is to listen, guide, and help them build understanding step by step. I also mentor students interested in engineering careers, drawing from my own experience in the field. And in my work with AI training, I craft and evaluate advanced mathematics content to improve how machines “think.” But whether I’m teaching a 12-year-old fractions or reviewing postgraduate-level prompts, the goal stays the same: to make the complex simple, and to help others see the beauty in problem-solving. Hello! I'm Fauresthia, I am a fully qualified secondary MFL( Modern Foreign Languages) teacher of French and Spanish. With a burning passion to inspire the next generation to embrace and discover why it is important to learn a new language. My academic journey began by being a native French speaker and receiving an A* at GCSE and an A at A-Level. I attended Manchester Metropolitan University for my undergraduate to learn French with Spanish. I was able to deepen my understanding of the cultural history and what the issues in society were in both countries via films, books and the topic of multiculturalism. In my 3rd year of university I went on my year aboard to completely immerse myself into both cultures. First I went to Reims, France for 5 months, where I taught English to primary children and toddlers at an English private school, it was a reveting experience. Later to Murcia, Spain for 6 months to the University of Murcia, where I studied travel and tourism, film studies and also additional Spanish language classes. I loved my time in Murcia, funnily enough I just didn't want to come back. I must say my year aboard truly allowed me to acquire various new skills as well as reflect on all the opportunities ahead in the field of work. Which led to me choosing to study once more after my last year of university. I decided to study a PGCE MFL French with Spanish for a year and graduated at King's College London. These achievements not only reflect my grasp of both languages but portraits my dedication and desire to speak these languages fluently as well as teaching them. Alongside my teaching, I have gained over a year of experience as a tutor. Having had the privilege of supporting students from diverse backgrounds but also GCSE and KS3 students all aiming high. My versatile teaching style is tailor-made to fit each student's unique learning style. Focusing on all 4 mfl skills (listening and reading, speaking and writing), as well as vocabulary and grammar. All in all ensuring their comfort, engagement, and evidently their success. My mission is to make Modern Languages and Maths fun and I want to help you achieve your goals. I offer Spanish, French and Polish from beginner to A Level standard, English as a Foregin Language, and early years to KS3 Mathematics. I tailor each lesson to the individual student, and I can provide homework as requested.
