Hi! My name’s Mea Tela, I’m a 2nd year Neuroscience and Psychology student at King’s College London, one of the leading institutions in the world for this subject. I remember 4 years ago when I was sitting in my first IB Psychology class having little to no idea what the subject was about—it didn’t take long after that for me to start falling in love with the subject and decide to pursue it at degree level. 4 years into studying this subject, I’m hoping to help others do the best they can in it. Hi there! I graduated from the International Baccalaureate in May 2024, achieving 41/45 points with 7s in Higher Levels English Language & Literature, Psychology, and Music. I am currently an undergraduate Psychology student at Durham University, but have been tutoring on the side. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, reading, crocheting, cooking, and watching Marvel films :) My friends and teachers describe me as compassionate and understanding, and a good listener. I aim to understand your individual ways of learning and tailor my teaching approach accordingly. I also like to use modelling, examples, metaphors, and a step-wise approach to explaining concepts, including application to the real-world to enrich conceptual understanding, instead of memorisation. I have a relaxed and patient approach to learning & guidance. I do not condone pressure-driven teaching as the IB is stressful enough. Hi! I'm currently studying Computer Science at the University of Warwick, one of the top universities in the UK. I’ve always had a strong passion for learning and teaching, especially when it comes to Maths and Physics. I graduated from the International Baccalaureate with a score of 41 out of 45, which is equivalent to AAA at A-Level. I scored 7 out of 7 in Physics HL and 6 out of 7 in Maths AA, which is one of the most challenging maths courses in the IB. Before that, I completed my IGCSEs with A* across all subjects. As a tutor, I focus on creating a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I tailor each session to suit the student’s pace and learning style, and I always aim to make lessons as engaging and understandable as possible. I am Tanisha Kirpalani, a Medical student at the University of Manchester. I am an IB graduate from Dulwich College Singapore, where I achieved a 42 with 7s in Biology Chemistry Psych HL and Math AA SL, as well as an A in my Extended Essay and TOK. believe in tailoring my teaching to the individual needs of each student and , recognizing that everyone learns differently, and prioritizing weaker areas that need more focus. Finally, at the core of any big exam lies a vital and often overlooked component - the 'markscheme'. As a tutor I aim to develop an in-depth understanding of this in students to help them score better in the tests and interviews they will face.
