Hi, I’m Larissa! I’m a naturally chatty, friendly and supportive person who loves helping students feel more confident in their abilities. For me, tutoring is about helping students work towards the grades they’re aiming for while also building their understanding, confidence and enjoyment of the subject. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and find an approach that works best for them. I’ve supported younger students during sixth form as well as tutoring my younger brother and family friends’ children. One of the things I’ve really enjoyed is seeing students become more confident as they start to understand a topic that they initially found difficult. Being able to make that difference is a big part of why I love tutoring. Academically, I achieved an A* in English Literature and Language A Level, an A in Psychology and Grade 8s in the GCSE subjects I tutor. I’m now in my second year of university studying English Literature and Film Studies and I’m working towards a first class degree. I am a Biomedical Engineering student at King's College London. I graduated from the French International School of Hong Kong, where I completed both the IB Diploma and IGCSEs. I achieved a score of 40/45 in the IB and earned 8 A grades and 2 A* grades in my IGCSEs. My IGCSE subjects included Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Computer Science, English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics. I have 3 years of tutoring experience, specialising in programming, 3D design, and STEM subjects. During this time, I have tutored more than a dozen IGCSE students in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, as well as supporting over three KS3 students in English.
