Find Your Perfect Politics Tutor In London

Hi! I’m a friendly, enthusiastic and academically driven tutor who is passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve their goals. I achieved an A* in A Level Politics, an A in A Level Geography, and Grade 9s in GCSE Religious Studies, Spanish, English Literature, English Language and Geography. Alongside my academic achievements, I have developed strong communication, debating and leadership skills through attending the international session of the European Youth Parliament and chairing several Model United Nations conferences. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain ideas clearly, think critically and engage with different perspectives. I use exam-board specifications, past papers, mark schemes and proven exam techniques to make lessons engaging and closely aligned with what students need to succeed. I tailor each session to the student, whether they need help understanding content, improving essay structure, mastering exam technique or pushing towards the highest grades. Outside academics, I enjoy playing badminton and staying engaged with politics and current affairs. I aim to make every lesson supportive, interactive and enjoyable, while helping students make real progress.

Hello! I'm Katelyn, a Durham University politics student and tutor who works to boost GCSE and A-Level students' self-confidence in their courses. My goal is to make things more understandable and less stressful because I am aware of how difficult revision and tests can be. I tutor in English language and literature, history, and politics, and my main goal is to explain things simply and effectively—no fancy explanations, just helpful guidance that suits you. You can generally find me reading, painting, or hanging out with friends when I'm not studying or tutoring. I prefer to keep sessions informal and laid back so you can ask questions, make errors, and truly understand the subject matter. Looking forward to helping you smash your goals!

Hi, I’m Onyiu, a passionate tutor with 1 year of tutoring experience, dedicated to helping students build confidence in A-Level Psychology, IGCSE First Language English, and IGCSE Global Perspectives. As a second-year psychology student at the University of Bath (with an achieved First Class mark in first-year), I am able to constantly build onto my own learning and understanding of the field whilst simultaneously imparting this onto my students. This enables me to be able to provide that extra depth in my lessons. Through tutoring, I want to help other students reach their full academic potential, regardless of the academic level they are currently working at, regardless of whether they themselves believe they are capable of doing so. I want to be the academic cheerleader for students that I wish I had when I was struggling in school. What sets me apart from most tutors is I know all too well what it feels like to struggle academically. To grind nonstop in the discouraging absence of results armed with nothing but unwavering grit and determination to prove your own academic potential to yourself. But I also know what it feels like to exceed my own expectations, and I want to help others do the same. In terms of my other accomplishments, I have written, edited, and published a non-fiction introductory book to Psychology - "Maybe You Can Read Minds Too: The Only Introduction to Psychology You'll Ever Need (or want)", which is available for purchase on Amazon. In 2024, I also won Northeastern University London's Essay Competition for Psychology, with my essay titled: "To what extent do mental factors impact ageing?" In my IGCSEs, I achieved A* (highest achievable) in IGCSE First Language English and Literature (CIE). For sixth form, I studied at Cheltenham Ladies College and achieved an A in A-Level Psychology (AQA). Having written an EPQ has also equipped me with highly effective time management skills. I believe this will significantly contribute to my effectiveness as a tutor, alongside the empathy I have cultivated having experienced the countless trials and tribulations of my own academic career.

Hi, my name is Max! I’m currently a first-year student at the University of Warwick studying History and Politics. I am looking to tutor students at both A-Level and GCSE (History) levels and help them get the best possible grade. Before university, I took a year to travel the world, giving me valuable life experience, meaning I am mature, reliable, and patient, and will bring these skills alongside my subject knowledge and a positive energy to help as a tutor. I have success in these subjects, achieving an A* in History and an A in Politics at A-Level, as well as seven Grade 9’s at GCSE, including in History. I studied GCSE History (Edexcel), taking the Cold War, Weimar & Nazi Germany, and Elizabethan England topics. At A-Level History (OCR) I took the topics of Russia 1894-1941, Colonialism to Independence (British Empire), and Alfred & the Making of England (Anglo-Saxons). I also did a personal study essay on the factors motivating the USA in the Vietnam War and an Extended Project Qualification on the Cuban Revolution, achieving an A*. I did A-Level Politics (Edexcel) and can help students prepare for either UK politics, US politics, or ideologies (including Feminism). I can help students revise and prepare for exams on any of these topics, and have a keen interest in them myself. I am a strong believer that for humanities subjects the best way to revise and prepare for exams is to plan essay questions, and I can help students in the best way to do this (ensuring that students incorporate what the examiner is looking for). I am also happy to help students recap their knowledge on particular parts of the course and ensure understanding of the fundamental concepts, ideas, definitions, and examples. I also have some direct experience as a tutor, as I acted as a mentor for Numeracy and Literacy for students between Years 7-9, helping young students progress in Maths and English. As an undergraduate student, my interests lie largely in modern history, looking at revolutions, colonialism (and decolonisation), and how the modern world was made (ranging from travel and epidemics, to slavery and the environment). I am also studying the history of the Middle East, looking at oil in Iran and Arabia, the Palestine conflict in Israel, and the broader issue of Islamic militarism. In Politics, I am looking at core political concepts and ideas, ideologies, and theories of international relations and global governance. I can bring my knowledge from this and my experience as a GCSE/A-Level student to help students prepare for their exams or generally improve their foundation in History and/or Politics. I look forward to meeting and teaching you!
