Find Your Perfect GCSE English Literature Tutor

Hello! I'm Katelyn, a Durham University politics student and tutor who works to boost GCSE and A-Level students' self-confidence in their courses. My goal is to make things more understandable and less stressful because I am aware of how difficult revision and tests can be. I tutor in English language and literature, history, and politics, and my main goal is to explain things simply and effectively—no fancy explanations, just helpful guidance that suits you. You can generally find me reading, painting, or hanging out with friends when I'm not studying or tutoring. I prefer to keep sessions informal and laid back so you can ask questions, make errors, and truly understand the subject matter. Looking forward to helping you smash your goals!

HI everyone! My name is Ionut, I am a third year History and Politics student at Durham, looking to use my three years experience tutoring English, History and Politics to give all my students longstanding academic success. Using my crafted and unique revision methods, I obtained a first in my second year at university, 9 GCSE Grade Nine's alongside 4 A*s at A Level- with a 90% average on all exam papers. Furthermore, I have tutored students from around the world, tutoring British, Hong Kong and even students from Kuwait! I look forward to meeting all of you soon and helping you achieve longstanding results!

My name is Lucas. I have been a lifelong lover and student of the English language and achieved a 2:1 in English from UCL, graduating 2025. I remember my time both learning and teaching English at an A Level and IGCSE fondly. I believe these subjects to be integral to formulating a growing student's capacity to think critically and closely analyse the written and spoken word, which in this particular day and age is more important than anything and serves as a distinguishing factor between themselves and a growing proportion of the population struggling with literacy and critical reading independent of external tools. I want to pay forward the efforts from my predecessors and continue teaching from this lineage which has given me an incredible toolset to view and approach the world, and the breadth of perspectives this subject can introduce to any person, regardless of age or stage of life.
