Experienced Online GCSE Geography Tutors

I graduated with a First from Oxford last year for my undergraduate History BA. I am really passionate about teaching and this year I have engaged in a variety of teaching roles, including volunteering as an English teacher for 3 months in Nepal. I have tutored History and Geography A level, alongside English Lit and Language GCSE for over 3 years. My tutoring style primarily revolves around teaching technique based essay writing improvements, and my students are able to massively boost their academic performance by focusing on these core skills. I am keen to provide a personalised experience tailored to each individual student which best suits their individual needs and learning approach. As a graduate in History, I am extremely experienced in essay writing (having to had to write weekly essays over 3 years). Thus I am well equipped to provide useful feedback and tips for any aspiring humanities student. I always like to be available to any of my students outside of sessions in case they have any queries or requests for content.

I have been tutoring for 2 years with a mixture of online and in-person tutoring. I am currently tutoring at GCSE, A level and Common Entrance (11+ and 13+) levels. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and watching students become more confident and motivated in their studies through understanding the material and answering questions. I take different approaches to lessons depending on the need of the child. With some I teach the whole syllabus from start to finish, others students have specific topics they would like to go through and some solely want exam practice. Hi! I'm Oscar and I'm a second-year student at the University of Warwick studying Computer Science. Having been through the pressure of GCSEs, A-levels and UCAS I understand the pressures students are facing and have a relaxed but careful approach to tutoring. This includes ensuring content is thoroughly understood through many examples and exam questions, as well as focusing on exam technique by utilizing examiner's reports and mark schemes that exam boards provide to ensure students write the best answers possible. My experience using these methods is extensive - enabling me to score 9 9s in my GCSEs and 3 A*s at A-level in Geography, Biology and Mathematics (as well as full marks in a software-related EPQ), I look to educate students not just on the subject content but also help them learn exceptional exam technique to reduce their stress during exams. I also enjoy programming, game development, resistance training, tennis and cooking in my spare time and am always happy to advise my tutees on how to make the best use of university life and flourish away from home! My passion for this subject comes from combining my two favourite subjects from school - biology and chemistry - which allows me to explore how the human body works and why it works in the way it does.
