I have just finished my second year student at the University of Exeter who received A's/A* at both GCSE and A Level. I am currently studying for a Bachelors Degree in Geography and have previous experience working in a primary schools, a summer camp with 6-15 year old girls as well as tutoring on Edumentors and privately for over a year. Hi, I’m Alfie — a recent Classics graduate from the University of Manchester with a deep love of language, literature, and big ideas. I tutor in Latin, Ancient Greek, English, and Religious Studies. I studied Latin at both GCSE and A-Level (achieving an A in each), before reading Classics at the University of Manchester, where I graduated with a 2:1. At university, I focused heavily on mastering Classical Languages — Latin and Ancient Greek — and even studied at the Novum Vivarium in Rome, a renowned school where all instruction is delivered entirely in spoken Latin. Alongside my language studies, I developed a strong interest in the cultural, literary, and philosophical dimensions of the ancient world — interests which naturally extend into English and Religious Studies. I’ve hosted a podcast with Luke Ranieri, one of the world’s foremost scholars in modern spoken Latin, where we explored topics ranging from grammar to deeper questions about meaning and tradition. I’ve now been tutoring for over a year across various platforms. My teaching style is grounded in curiosity and collaboration: I like to ask open-ended questions and guide students toward figuring things out for themselves. This is especially effective in subjects that require interpretation and reflection, like English and Religious Studies. One thing I often help students with is building confidence. Many pupils — especially in intellectually demanding subjects — struggle not with ability but with a fear of making mistakes. My lessons create a safe space where trial and error is encouraged and where even small wins are celebrated. Over time, I’ve seen this approach transform not just how students perform, but how they think. Outside tutoring, I’m a passionate language learner (I speak French and Italian and am learning Russian) and I enjoy playing guitar in my free time. I am a student at the University of Oxford studying Japanese. I achieved all A*s and As in my Japanese, Religious Studies, and Latin A-Levels, as well as in all of my GCSEs. My particular area of interest is religion in Classical Japan, combining my background in religious studies, Classical history, and Japanese. At the University of Oxford, I sing as a Choral Scholar at The Queen's College, where I perform in concerts and services around the world. Beyond my passion for singing, I love playing the piano and the trombone. I have taught Japanese, Religious Studies, Latin and singing to children and adults of all ages for over 3 years, and I am experienced in supporting students of all levels with independent study. I was home-educated myself and self-studied for all my academic qualifications. I tutor a wide range of subjects beyond these, and my students have all received top grades at GCSE and A-level. I am devoted to providing clear explanations and encouraging students to develop their full potential in their subjects. I am enthusiastic about helping students achieve their academic goals while creating a fun and engaging classroom environment. My love for literature, history and language allows me to effectively introduce the cultural, linguistic and literary aspects of humanities courses. I tailor classes to each student's needs, and am more than happy to help students with goals such as working towards exams, Oxbridge applications and UCAS personal statements.

My name is Evelyn, and I am currently a second-year Chemistry student at UCL. I began volunteering as a tutor in January through REUK, where I have gained valuable experience supporting students in their studies. I have also completed a DBS check and am fully eligible to work with young people. Alongside my formal tutoring, I have spent many years informally helping friends and younger students, which has strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles. While I specialise in Chemistry, I also have experience tutoring Biology at A level and Maths at IGCSE level. I offer a flexible schedule and am able to accommodate a wide range of tutoring hours.

I am a second-year LLB Law student at the University of Warwick, predicted a First Class degree. I achieved 10 Grade 9s at GCSE and ranked 1st in my A-Level English Language cohort with a 95% score. The academic record is there. More importantly, so is the method behind it. For the past three years I have worked as a qualified Swimming Instructor, teaching 30+ children weekly across all ages and ability levels. That experience taught me something no degree can: every student needs a different explanation, and your job as a teacher is to find it. That is exactly how I approach every subject I teach. I teach English Language at GCSE and A-Level, English Literature at IGCSE, History at IGCSE, and Economics at A-Level. Across every subject, my approach is the same: mark scheme mastery, structured note-taking systems, exam technique built from real experience, and live feedback on past papers. I do not teach students to memorise. I teach them to think like an examiner. I have seen firsthand what separates students who plateau at a Grade 6 from those who break through to Grade 9. The gap is almost never intelligence. It is method, and that is exactly what I provide.
