I am Alice, a third year Classics student at Oxford University. I have been tutoring formally for over two years and I offer tutoring for English Language, History, Geography, Biology and Maths up to GCSE level, as well as Latin and Greek up to A level standard. I achieved 9s in all of these subjects, with 98% in History, 97% in Geography (awarded a prize for coming top in the exam board), 98% in Maths (and 94% in Additional Mathematics), 98% in Latin, and 97% in Greek. I can also provide mentorship for University applications, particularly for Oxbridge. My tutoring style consists of both general teaching (such as Latin, Greek and English Language from scratch) as well as specification-based teaching. My main focus is on inspiring confidence and encouraging productive revision techniques, including an emphasis on past papers and tailoring one's answers to what the exam board wants. I believe that, by learning from examiners' reports and mark schemes, one can provide the examiner with exactly what they want to hear. This is crucial for achieving top marks or for jumping up several grades.

Hello! I am Bertie and am a third year Classics student at Durham University where I also study some History. I love the classical world, English, History and History of Art and enjoy tutoring in these fields. I got 11 A*s in 12 GCSEs, and 4 A*s at A Level in English, History, Latin and Greek. I write pieces for magazines, I am a member of my university Diplomatic Society producing a weekly dossier and love to read about current affairs and historical books and articles. I have experience in tutoring and enjoy watching students develop their skills and help them to achieve better grades. I will tailor my sessions to each student and focus on areas that they struggle with before moving on to the next topic. I enjoy the problem solving aspect of tutoring and am always up for the challenge of teaching difficult subjects. I have graduated with a 2:1 in Modern Languages (French and Spanish). I can also teach Italian (GCSE), Greek (GCSE/ native) and am certified in Introductory BSL. I have 3 years experience of teaching Greek and English (as a foreign language) as a Language Speaking Practise volunteer at my university. After having achieved a French GCSE after 9 months of learning independently and a Spanish degree after 2 years of learning, I strongly believe the quality of learning is more important than the quantity of time. I completed a Spanish oral dissertation on children with learning difficulties regarding language learning, so I equally welcome students of all learning abilities.
