Hello! I'm Taylor, a trainee airline pilot with British Airways, due to start flying A320s towards the middle of 2026. Prior to this, I graduated in Biomedical Engineering at Surrey University with First Class Honors (as well as having completed pre-clinical medicine at the University of Edinburgh with a grade average of 80% before finding my calling in aviation), and was an IB student at Tonbridge Grammar School, achieving 41/45 (with a 6/7/7 in Maths, Physics, and Computer Science respectively). As a tutor I have worked privately since 2017, tutoring primarily maths to students aged 11-18, as well as UCAT, Personal Statement writing, and Interview technique for prospective medicine applicants. My students have consistently gone on to achieve their goal in the exams they are aiming for, with a notable example being a GCSE maths student that I (in combination with my tutee's hard work!) brought from a grade 1/2 to a 6/7 over the course of 12 weeks of tutoring. I am delivering webinars to classes of 20-30 students covering both past papers and challenging concepts within a subject. My tutoring style very much depends on the student; however, I always start by identifying the student's goals and the areas they struggle in. I will then tailor the sessions to make sure we cover those topics, and I also attempt to link the topics we cover to their application in the real world (my engineering degree helps with this), so I hope that my students not only achieve the goal they have set but also come out understanding that school subjects can be useful after all!
