Hi, I’m Iseabhail! I’m currently an undergraduate student at the University of St Andrews studying French, Arabic, and Persian. I achieved A*s in both French and English Literature at A-Level, as well as an 8 in French, and a 9 in English Literature at GCSE. I’ve focused on building a strong academic foundation that is rooted in a deep love for Literature and Modern Languages which allows me to communicate complex ideas clearly. Through my experience as a Class Rep for Persian at university, I advocate for fellow learners and bring leadership and communication directly to my tutoring. My journey began through informal tutoring and mentoring, supporting my sister, her friends, and family friends through their own exams. This experience introduced me to the various styles of teaching required to help students progress and understand different ideas or concepts. I pride myself on adapting my teaching style to fit each individual, ensuring they don’t just ‘learn’ the content, but truly engage with and enjoy it. Hi, I'm Emily and I study English at the University of St Andrews. I'm passionate about education and first discovered my love for teaching when I began tutoring Year 11 students for their IGCSE English exams in Sixth Form. It was so rewarding to watch their confidence grow and grades improve, and I would love to help your child to do the same. As someone who studies English Literature at university and also studied history and Latin at A-Level, I have lots of experience with textual analysis and essay writing. In tutoring sessions, I can provide feedback on exam-style pieces of writing, guidance on the Point Evidence Analysis (PEA) structure, as well as discussions on key themes and ideas in the course materials. I also have a lot of experience of studying languages, having studied Spanish at IGCSE, Latin at GCSE and A-Level and French at IGCSE, Higher Level IB and during my first year of university. I can help with vocab tests, going through grammatical structures, providing feedback on written pieces, translation practice and speaking practice. My name is Susanna, and I am a kind, empathetic, and enthusiastic academic and writer. I recently completed my postgraduate (MSt) degree at the University of Oxford. During my time at Oxford, I studied Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and I specialised in English Literature. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of my MSt, I also have extensive knowledge of history, sociology, art history, critical theory, and analytical thinking. Hi there! My name is Clara and I currently study Philosophy at St Andrews University. My life-long passion for reading has led to me becoming an English tutor (as well as teaching other humanities subjects!) I believe that the benefits of tutoring go beyond earning high exam results. While this is certainly the goal, looking beyond exams by inspiring a love for learning is one of my priorities. This principle is carried throughout my tutoring sessions; my main goal being finding a way for each student to learn to enjoy subjects that they may be initially wary about. I achieved a grade 9 in both English Literature and English Language at GCSE, as well as an A* grade in English Literature at A-Level. My love of reading has always motivated my studies and, thus, now my career! I have developed my essay writing skills in both examination and coursework based subjects.
