Hello! I’m Maia and I’m a 2nd year German and Linguistics student at Queen Mary University of London. My love of languages and deep understanding of grammatical structures through my studies in linguistics allow me to offer a well-rounded and flexible approach to tutoring. I aim to not only provide support with a wide range of topics such as grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and exam practice, but also spread my passion for languages – I believe that with the right teacher, anyone can learn a language and enjoy it! I offer tutoring for all levels: from absolute beginners to A Level. Having received a 9 in my GCSE German, an A* in my A Level, and on course to receive a first-class degree from a Russell Group university, I can also provide a wealth of exam and studying advice. In addition to my academic background, I have experience as a teaching assistant in a secondary school languages department, where I offered support to students in lessons and led one-on-one speaking sessions. I worked with students of various skill levels, which allowed me to adapt my teaching style to meet their individual needs. Through helping students gain confidence in their language abilities, I cultivated a love of teaching. I aim to make my lessons as flexible and interactive as possible, and value the importance of understanding that every pupil has a different style of learning. I am currently studying French and Italian at Durham University. I am really passionate about teaching students, and having taught English to young French children for two months in Guadeloupe, as well as teaching a wide range of UK based students on the Global Impact initiative, I thoroughly enjoy watching the students I tutor grow in ability and confidence. I am a final year Physics student at King's College London, I have a deep passion for STEM. I have over a years experience in tutoring students for their examinations (both GCSE and A Level). My tutoring style for Mathematics and Physics, will ensure that the lessons are fun and effective and students will have a thorough grasp of the theory and concepts, and then move onto building exam technique so that they can get as many marks as possible. For German, I aim to practice speaking and listening, so that they improve their vocabulary and can get closer to conversing. I also aim to ensure they understand the grammar and can use a range of sentence structures. I aim to tailor revision sessions to the student, depending on their strengths and worries. I am a first year undergraduate at the University of Oxford, reading Law with German Law. I have extensive tutoring experience, having been a formal 11+ tutor, as well as informally tutoring family and friends at GCSE and A-level. I helped several students at my secondary school improve their personal statements and advised them on their university applications, which led them on to prestigious Russell Group universities.

My name is Lisa. I am a 1st year University of Cambridge Modern & Medieval Languages (French & German) Undergraduate student with a keen interest in literature (both foreign and English) and economics (mainly financial markets). I studied Economics, French, German and Russian at A-level and really enjoyed this combination. I am an avid reader, a travel enthusiast and a passionate linguist. I have taught many subjects at GCSE level in the past, however, I now prefer to specialise in teaching English and foreign languages, more precisely French and German, as well as Economics, for students of any age and level. My typical lesson duration is 1-1.5 hours, but I like to customise my teaching methodology and lesson length in accordance with my students' academic/personal goals.
