Hi! I’m Milena, a friendly English and Religious Studies tutor offering personalised, exam-focused sessions for students aiming to improve their grades and build confidence. I am in my second year studying Law at UCL. I achieved 9 Grade 9s at GCSE, including Grade 9s in both English Literature and English Language, and achieved 3 A grades at A Level. I also achieved full marks in my A Level English Literature coursework. I now study Law at University College London (4% acceptance rate). I know first-hand how important it is to know what examiners are actually rewarding so I focus on helping students turn their knowledge into marks. At the same time, I believe tutoring should be personalised. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my explanations, questions and activities to their individual level, strengths and areas for improvement. Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, lacking confidence or aiming to move from a 7 to an 8/9, I will tailor sessions around you. Alongside this, I provide tailored homework after sessions as well as same-day support for homework queries via the Edumentors chat. I offer tutoring in: * GCSE English Literature * GCSE English Language * A Level English Literature * GCSE Religious Studies * Personal statement and university application mentoring Having received 5/5 university offers, including offers from UCL, LSE, King’s College London and Queen Mary University of London, I also offer university application mentoring. I can help with choosing universities, developing a strong application, personal statement strategy and presenting your experiences effectively.

Hi! My name is Ihab and I am a LSE student studying History and Politics and currently averaging a high 2.1. I have studied a range of History topics from the Ottoman Empire, the Tudors and the Qing Empire which I enjoy. My approach to tutoring is like a conversation in which I prefer to question and prompt my student so they can grow their knowledge within my lessons. This would be through teaching them concepts and information then applying them to past paper questions, as well as my own that I have created. I can adjust the style of my lessons to my students preference in which I aim to find gaps in knowledge and then underlying issues that prevent them from fulfilling their full potential. I am an experienced tutor, as I have been tutoring for nearly 3 years with 2 of them face to face lessons in students houses in which I taught kids from KS1-KS4. For the past year I have been tutoring students on online platforms from GCSE, AS and A-Level content which have seen my students achieve A' and A* in their mocks. I have also worked with students on summer schools as a mentor as I have been able to develop skills that tailor to students needs which has helped them develop their understanding in subjects as well as finding their passion in life. I studied History, Economics and Government and Politics at A-level receiving A*A*A with the A being in History. I can tutor in a range of exam boards as well as qualifications from GCSE, A-level, IGCSE in which I have experience in all 3 which means I can provide guidance and lessons that can push students grades up as well as offering effective exam techniques.

My name is Samadi, and I am currently a first-year student at the University of Manchester, where I am pursuing an LLB in Law with Politics. I recently completed my A Levels, achieving the highest marks in A-level Politics within my cohort and securing the fourth highest marks in A-level History. My academic journey has been defined by a commitment to excellence, as demonstrated by my A* in A-level History coursework-where I achieved one of the highest marks in my cohort (38/40) and an impressive score of 80% in Paper 2 of A-level Politics. My passion for tutoring is rooted in a genuine desire to help others realise their potential and achieve the best possible outcomes. I firmly believe that every student has the capacity to excel when provided with the right support and guidance. My approach is flexible and student-centred: I adapt my teaching methods to suit the unique needs and preferences of each individual. Whether you are struggling with specific topics, seeking to create effective revision materials, or aiming to maximise your grades, I am committed to helping you reach your goals. I have gained valuable tutoring experience in a variety of settings. During a summer school programme, I worked with a class of fifteen students to help ease the transition from Year 6 to Year 7, particularly in the challenging period following the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, I have provided private one-to-one tutoring in Maths and English, supporting students at both GCSE and primary levels. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to work effectively with a diverse range of learners, adapting my teaching style to suit different ages, abilities, and learning preferences. My teaching philosophy is rooted in fostering curiosity and building confidence. I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and explore new ideas. By tailoring my lessons to each student’s learning style, I aim to make challenging subjects accessible and enjoyable. I offer tutoring across a broad range of subjects and levels. At the primary and secondary level, I specialise in English Literature and Language, History, and Religious Studies, with particular experience in preparing students for KS2 and Year 6 SATs, as well as GCSE examinations. As a creative individual with a keen interest in the arts, I also offer support in GCSE Photography, a subject I am passionate about in my own time. For A-level students, I provide focused tuition in History (OCR), covering modules such as Early Modern Europe, Witchcraft, the Wars of the Roses, and the American Revolution. I also offer guidance on A-level History coursework, regardless of topic. In A-level Politics (Edexcel), I specialise in both UK and US politics, drawing on my own successful exam performance and in-depth subject knowledge. As an advanced tutor, I am also dedicated to supporting students through the university application process. I provide expert guidance on crafting compelling personal statements, offering tailored advice to help you highlight your strengths, interests, and aspirations. With a deep understanding of what universities look for, I can help you refine your writing, structure your statement effectively, and stand out in a competitive field. Whether you are applying for Law, Politics, or another discipline, I am committed to helping you present your best self and secure a place at your chosen institution. Ultimately, my goal is to inspire and equip my students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed academically and beyond. I look forward to supporting you on your learning journey and helping you achieve your aspirations.

I have been able to achieve an A* in English Literature and 9 in GCSE English-Literature after struggling to get passed D/C's initially at the start of those educational milestones. I have mulitple years of tutoring experience, both within a tutoring centre and independently. While working at TOP LEARNING (Sept 2022 – March 2023), I supported students from Year 1 to Year 11 through a mix of group and one-to-one sessions, tailoring my approach to different learning styles and confidence levels. I particularly enjoyed helping students build self-belief alongside academic skills, especially in GCSE English, as well as Maths and English at primary level. I have tutored independently on an ad hoc basis, including voluntary A-Level English Literature support. Most recently, I worked closely with a student through the final stages of her A-Levels and saw her progress from a predicted D to a just 1 mark off a B in English Literature, which reinforced for me how personalised teaching and encouragement can make a real difference. I would also love to tutor LNAT lessons. I have had 2 years of mentoring students, supporting with applications and answering questions as a Sutton Trust Pathways to Law Mentor during my where I won an Outstanding Contribution Award (2026). The students were supported from year 12 to year 13 where they ended the tenure listening to a speech I was invited to give that enabled the students to gracefully close that chapter of their lives. Pouring into those younger than me has always been a passion of mine that I have invested in and learned to grow in this area.

Need an English Literature Tutor to Help Your Child Succeed?

Are English Literature essays becoming harder to structure and analyse clearly? Many students understand texts but struggle to build strong arguments and express ideas under exam pressure. Parents often look for extra support when progress slows or confidence begins to drop.

It can then feel difficult to decide what kind of help will make a real difference. Should you choose a local tutor or explore online options for more flexibility? One-to-one support can help improve writing and analytical thinking over time. Some students also work with an English Language A-Level tutor or an English GCSE tutor to strengthen their overall skills.

Families seeking local support can explore experienced English Literature tutors in Birmingham or English Literature tutors in London. Personalised lessons can strengthen close-reading skills, essay structure and confidence when approaching poetry, prose and drama.

This section answers common questions about English Literature tutors, including how to get started and what to expect.
