Hi there! My name is Clara and I currently study Philosophy at St Andrews University. My life-long passion for reading has led to me becoming an English tutor (as well as teaching other humanities subjects!) I believe that the benefits of tutoring go beyond earning high exam results. While this is certainly the goal, looking beyond exams by inspiring a love for learning is one of my priorities. This principle is carried throughout my tutoring sessions; my main goal being finding a way for each student to learn to enjoy subjects that they may be initially wary about. I achieved a grade 9 in both English Literature and English Language at GCSE, as well as an A* grade in English Literature at A-Level. My love of reading has always motivated my studies and, thus, now my career! I have developed my essay writing skills in both examination and coursework based subjects. Hi there! My name is Antigone, but everyone calls me Tiggy. I'm currently in my first year at King's College London, studying Psychology (BSc). I have always been passionate about academics from a young age as well as helping others with their studies. In school, I volunteered as a teaching assistant in a special education school as well as teaching computer science in a school nearby my own for years 7 through 9. I also taught in orphanages in India after my school journey was complete. I genuinely think that there is a way to make learning enjoyable for everyone, it's just about finding the right way - thus tutoring has become one of my true passions. Hi! I am currently a conversion Masters student at UAL studying Data Science and AI in Creative Industries MSc. My undergraduate degree was in Sociology and Social Policy (with placement) BSc (Hons) at the University of Bath. As a result of my studies and passion for education, I seek to aid improvement of students knowledge and help develop their critical faculties of relevant content in humanities subjects - at GCSE and A-Level. My subject specialty is sociology and social research methods, where I have had several publications in the field from prestigious publishers such as, Routledge. However, I studied history, government and politics, and religious studies at A-Level and am able to teach these subjects to a high standard. The session’s structure is oriented around the needs of each individual student - from exam practice, developing understanding of course content, to exploring academic interests off syllabus to facilitate wider reading around their courses. I also have training in understanding disabilities such as Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and neurodivergence such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
