Hi, my name is Max and I am a recent Human, Social and Political Sciences graduate at the University of Cambridge. I am confident in tutoring a vast array of subjects at IB, A Level, GCSE and KS3 levels. This includes English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Geography, Politics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I have been working at Edumentors for over 18 months now and have tutored an array of subjects for hundreds of hours at A-Level, IB, GCSE and KS3 levels. At Sixth Form, I studied the IB and received a total of 44/45 points, with 7, 7, 7 at higher level, and also received 11 GCSE level 9s (including Further Maths). I am a recent Graduate from University of Cambridge, achieving a high 2:1 grade, focusing on Political Science and quantitative, statistical methods on Politics specifically. I have many examination and preparation techniques I look forward to sharing, which will be recommended on a student-by-student basis, meaning my tutoring is tailored to the specific needs of your child. Not only this, but if required, I am suited to delving beyond course material to debate topics at a higher level, which is excellent preparation for university work and personal statement-making. Specifically, I have helped students achieve grade 8s/9s in their English and Maths GCSE studies from the lower grades (5 and 6) they were working at initially. I have received excellent feedback from all the students I have tutored. For example, in English, I find collaborative discussion around key texts essential to unlocking the top grades. This is not only in relation to set texts, but sometimes I have found it rewarding for the student (depending on their ability) to discuss texts beyond the curriculum to challenge them further (especially in English Language lessons) Overall, my approach to teaching is professional, approachable, engaging, and I seek to tailor my teaching methods for the needs of each student. Part of this is my in-depth knowledge of exam-boards such as AQA and Edexcel, meaning I can tailor tutoring lessons to each board respectively, and ensure I cover the required content in-depth. Now that I have graduated, I am also very flexible regarding scheduling, meaning I am available for as many or as little sessions as you need me for. This will be the case until the start of next year, meaning I can offer long-term tutoring support. Aside from this, I am a keen Badminton-player, am currently learning German at an advanced level, and am the Editor-In-Chief of the Cambridge Journal of Political Affairs.
