My name is Zoha, I'm a 5th year medical student at UCL. Driven by challenge, I have a strong dedication to learn and achieve my best in any given scenario and work well within a team. I enjoy teaching and have a vast experience in doing so with students ranging from 5-24yrs old. Thus, I have attained great communication skills, which has meant I am able to explain and discuss content with my students to the level they desire. My teaching experience involves science, maths and assisting applications for entry into medical school. I believe my passion for my subject enables me to teach the subjects to the best of my ability in a clear and concise way, one which is easily grasped by my students.

I graduated with a First from Oxford last year for my undergraduate History BA. I am really passionate about teaching and this year I have engaged in a variety of teaching roles, including volunteering as an English teacher for 3 months in Nepal. My tutoring style primarily revolves around teaching technique based essay writing improvements, and my students are able to massively boost their academic performance by focusing on these core skills. I am a 1st year University of Cambridge Modern & Medieval Languages (French & German) Undergraduate student with a keen interest in literature (both foreign and English) and economics (mainly financial markets). I studied Economics, French, German and Russian at A-level and really enjoyed this combination. I am an avid reader, a travel enthusiast and a passionate linguist. Hi! I'm Keerthana, a 3rd year aerospace engineering student at the University of Nottingham. I have been formally tutoring for the past year and a half, and in this time I have had a rewarding journey of teaching and connecting with students from different backgrounds all brought together by the exams they're taking. Meanwhile, my informal experience of tutoring stems from teaching my cousins, which was a rewarding journey that allowed me to sharpen my patience and creativity. Along the way, I've discovered that the ability to tailor explanations to students is just as important as the knowledge itself. When I was doing my (I)GCSE and IB, I found questions easier to solve when I understood my concepts c . Even the littlest missing pieces of knowledge made a huge difference to me. So, as a tutor, my first goal would be ensure that my students have a strong understanding of the topic. To strengthen their knowledge, I would also work through many exam questions with them, as they are the key to being confident during the actual exam. As an aerospace engineering major, I've had to build a strong base in my Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, which is why those are the subjects I mainly specialise in. Currently, I'm happy to tutor students preparing for their GCSEs in these subjects, and Chemistry and Physics in A level and IB. Aside from my academics, I am an artist with a passion for capturing stunning landscapes in my paintings. From a young age, I have always been fascinated with numbers and mathematics in general. I participated in the UKMT Maths Challenges from Year 7 to Year 13, where I was awarded with a Bronze, Silver or Gold certificate. I was also ranked as the ‘Best In the Year’ for two consecutive years, and ‘Best In the School’ in Year 10. I was awarded a grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics. In Year 11, I was also awarded a certificate in a Level 3 Algebra with 91%. At the end of Year 13, I achieved A*s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Computer Science and an A in Physics. I was awarded my school’s ‘Governors Leaving Award/A P Lawrence Memorial Prize for Mathematics’ and the ‘Prize for Computing Studies’. I have taught students at 11+ level and GCSE Level and I’ve also helped students who were struggling with different aspects of Mathematics.

I have been a Private Tutor for the last 7 years tutoring students that have been finding their GCSE and A-Level curriculum difficult. Overall, I have taught more than 100 students over the last 7 years and helped them achieve their desired grades and university. Lesson Structure: My online lessons mainly happen through Microsoft OneNote. Every OneNote notebook I have for a student keeps track of three following parts: - a curriculum checklist to make sure our lessons are kept on track, - lesson notes to keep track of everything we worked on together, and - mini-mock exams to help students get used to exam situations. I keep my lesson from 1 to 2 hours where we use the first 30 mins to cover anything you need help with immediately. For the rest of the lesson, we work on topics that you have found challenging/difficult, making sure we are on top of everything covered in school. If we have managed to cover all of those topics, we move on to topics that will be covered in school. This will help give the student a head start and stay ahead of your class which will help make school lessons easier. Furthermore, I like to keep students on track with their independent studying outside of our lessons by giving mini-mock exams approximately every 2 months (given we do lessons twice a week). These mini-mock exams help students get acclimatised to exam situations and provide motivation for students to do independent studying outside school and our private lessons. Each mini-mock contains exam-style questions with a couple of difficult/tricky questions to help students prepare for the worst-case scenario when it comes to the actual exam they will be sitting. If needed, I provide proper mock exams to help recreate an exam situation to help students gauge their shortcomings and help them improve themselves.
