Hello! My name is Gavindu and I'm currently doing an Integrated Masters in Computer Science at the University of York. I have been tutoring for 2.5 years in Maths and Computer Science, as well as being a programming tutor for CodeNinjas. I have completed formal training in tutoring and have a lot of experience tutoring children with special needs. My teaching style consists more of building the child's interest in the subject, rather than teaching the content for the sake of it, since interest is what helps understanding and inspires further learning. With that, my lessons will be fun and engaging while being fully informative, as the lessons will be based fully on the exam specification. As for my results, I have achieved 9's in Maths, Computer Science, Music and all sciences. I also achieved an A* in Computer Science at A level and a few marks off an A* in maths. I have also completed grade 8 and 7 in piano and guitar, winning a formal competition for piano in the process. Hello! My name is Florence and I am currently a law student at the University of Cambridge! I am confident in tutoring A-Level English Literature, Politics and Music, as well as a wide range of GCSE subjects. I am also able to offer personal statement advice, and mock interviews, particullarly for those considering highly competitive universities like Oxbridge. During my time at school, I recieved 10 9s at GCSE and a range of A*-A grades at A-Level, as well as an A* in EPQ. Hi, I'm Maddie and I'm currently an undergraduate at Cambridge University studying Music. I am a tutor because I love passing on my passion for music and for learning, and I create personalised lesson plans to help each student achieve their goals and learn in the way that best suits them. I previously studied at the Purcell School where I achieved 3 A*s at A level (Music, English Literature and French) and also specialised in Composition, Conducting, Classical Alto Saxophone and Piano. I have been successful in multiple composition competitions including being shortlisted for BBC Young Composer 2023, and my work has been performed by ensembles such as the Carducci Quartet. I am really passionate about Music Education and have spoken on various panels, including at the International Society for Music Education’s 35th World Conference. My first experience teaching was when I was 16 and volunteered in year 8 music lessons, teaching the students to write songs. Since then I have done music outreach in Primary and Secondary Schools across England, and led music workshops for youth groups and local refugee children, all of which I find incredibly fulfilling. Hi, I'm Skye (he/him)! I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford, where I gained my BA in Music, and I'm now studying for my MA in Music Composition at the University of York. My main focus is music theory / skills / composition, of which I am comfortable teaching all levels. I achieved a Grade 9 in Music during my `GCSEs and an A* at A Level, as well as a distinction in my ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory examination. In addition, I also have A Levels in Maths, Further Maths and Physics (A*, B, A, respectively) and would be comfortable teaching these subjects up to GCSE level. My approach is unique to each student, as I try and adapt to whatever style of learning will suit them the most.
