Hi there, my name is Lukas. I am 25 years old and a graduated master's student from Oxford University, specialising in Renaissance literature at St. Hilda's College. I previously studied at St. Catherine's in Oxford where I completed an undergraduate English Literature degree. I achieved a high merit in my MA and a high 2.1 in my undergraduate degree. I began tutoring during my studies and have used it to supplement my income as a SEN specialist education worker. I have over one hundred hours of experience with online tutoring and have a few years of backed up resources for English Literature and English Language across AQA, OCR, EDUQAS, Edexcel exam boards, for both GCSE and A Level. I also have experience with the International Baccalaureate. With my combination of SEN experience and academic success, I am comfortable teaching across a wide range of abilities. At A-Level, I achieved grades A*/A*/A in English Literature, Government and Politics, and Art and Design, which led me to receive an unconditional offer to study at the University of Birmingham. I graduated from Birmingham with a First-Class Honours BA in American and Canadian Studies, which involved writing First-Class essays on literature, history, politics, and art history. I was also the sole recipient of the Brian Harding Prize for excellence in my field. At Oxford, I was awarded the George Oakes Scholarship for American Studies on the merit of my application and undergraduate writing samples, meaning that my studies were funded. During my Master’s, I completed Distinction-graded essays in literature, poetry, and philosophy, achieving a high Merit overall. Outside of academia, I have worked in gallery and museum outreach, through which I have years of experience patiently and enthusiastically teaching young people about the humanities and supporting them to feel knowledgeable and confident. As someone who went to state school and then received a scholarship to study at Oxford, I am very motivated to continue to support others!
