I have extensive experience in education and tutoring, specializing in creative and language-based learning. As a French teacher at Alliance Française (2022–2023), I designed and delivered engaging lessons using the FLE method, managing groups of up to 15 children and providing tailored feedback to support their learning. At Oasis Nurture (2024), I used art as a tool for emotional resilience, leading therapeutic workshops for underprivileged children, mentoring assistants, and curating an exhibition of their work. Since 2021, I have been a private tutor, offering one-on-one lessons in French, Art History, and Cambridge application preparation. I have successfully guided students through personal statements, interview techniques, and subject-specific knowledge, with one student gaining admission to Cambridge. My current role as creative health and outreach curator at Looking Forward (2024–present) involves designing community-based art programmes to support children's well-being, collaborating with institutions like Whitechapel Gallery and Serpentine Galleries to make art more inclusive and accessible. Additionally, as an education and outreach volunteer at the Whipple Museum (2024), I developed strategies to make complex topics engaging and understandable for the public. Through these roles, I have developed strong teaching, mentoring, and curriculum design skills, with a particular focus on inclusive and creative learning.

Hi, I’m Ali — a Natural Sciences graduate from UCL, now studying medicine at ARU. I’ve always had a strong passion for science and education, and I love helping others understand complex ideas in a simple, clear way. I studied at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School, where I achieved top A-Level grades including an A* in Biology. At UCL, I specialised in Biomedical Sciences and Synthetic Organic Chemistry and graduated with Upper Second Class Honours. My time at UCL gave me a deep understanding of biology, chemistry, and how they connect — which I now build on as a medical student. Along the way, I’ve worked in both science and healthcare settings. I’ve done healthcare research with Newmarket Strategy, where I worked with senior NHS advisors on digital health projects, and I’m currently working in the Women’s Health department at ESNEFT ICS to help improve care pathways. These experiences have helped me understand not just the science, but also how it applies in the real world. As a tutor, I bring both academic strength and practical experience. I’ve helped GCSE and A-Level students improve their grades, understand tricky topics, and feel more confident with their exam technique. I use proven study methods like active recall, spaced repetition, and past-paper analysis, but I always tailor my approach to each student. Whether someone is struggling with cell biology, preparing for medical school, or just wants to feel more confident in lessons, I’m here to help. I try to make each session clear, focused, and supportive — with a goal of not just better grades, but deeper understanding.

Very big improvement given a short period of time with only a small time period of about 3 months my daughter in year 10 has gone from a level U to a level 4 in her maths grade with her tutor Jose. He is a very good maths teacher and has very easy ways of doing hard GCSE maths. What my daughter used to find immensely hard is now very easy. Jose is sadly not her tutor anymore but this was a very great experience and will be looking forward to using this company again for my daughter to get high grades and pass her GCSE’s thank you very much.

Excellent service, highly recommented Booked a block of Lessons leading up to my sons maths exam as maths was his weakest subject and he felt he wanted help. Pia (the tutor) was patient and professional and explained things in a way my son could easily understand. He looked forward to each lesson and felt the lessons gave him the confidence, knowledge and understanding he needed to face his maths GCSE exam. He thinks he did really well in his first exam and we are so pleased we invested in the lessons leading up to his GCSE’s. Can’t recommend Edumentors and Pia enough. Really professional service and well worth the money.

The tutoring times were really flexible and the tutor themselves (Izzy Mitchell) was amazing. The level of communication allowed between the student and tutor made it easy for my questions to be answered quickly. So thank you so much Edumentors and Izzy! Personally, I went from a 6 to a 9 in AQA English literature in just a few weeks so if you are thinking about it, give it a go!

Absolutely superb. Helped my son move from a predicted D in Maths to an actual A, in year. Highly recommend both Edumentors and specifically Apoorv as a tutor. It was easy to set-up, pay and manage. Any issues were solved quickly and without fuss.

Fantastic Flexible German Tutoring We had Imogen from Edumentor tutoring my daughter for GCSE’s. Imogen is a fantastic tutor and through the year prepared my daughter enabling her to get a 9 in German. Edumentor were extremely flexible and helpful in ensuring we could have the sessions when we needed them the most. I would throughly recommend using them for your GCSE tutoring.

Need a Tutor to Help Your Child Succeed?

When GCSE subjects start to feel more demanding, it often shows in both confidence and results. Many parents notice that revision becomes stressful or that their child loses track of important topics.

At this point, it is not always clear what will help most, so families begin exploring different options. Some start with GCSE maths tutors online or GCSE English language tutors to strengthen core subjects. In contrast, others turn to GCSE science tuition or private GCSE physics tuition when specific areas become more challenging.

With so many options available, choosing the right support can feel difficult. These questions are here to help you understand what to expect from online GCSE tutoring and what actually makes a difference as your child prepares for exams.
