Hi, my name is Rudy and I am a second-year Civil Engineering student at the University of Manchester with a strong academic background in both Maths and Physics. I am committed to helping and supporting students to achieve their target grades and develop a strong understanding in their chosen subjects. Throughout my academic journey, I have had a strong, academically focused mindset that helped me achieve top grades in Maths, Physics and Engineering during GCSEs and A-Levels. I took part in the UK Mathematics Challenge during my time at secondary school and sixth-form at both junior and senior level, where I received a Bronze certificate. These achievements alongside my dedication to study engineering from GCSE level to university, has helped me form a strong analytical foundation and grow my passion for learning. My expertise in tutoring lies in Maths and Physics across all ages and I am most confident in teaching the British Curriculum. My style of teaching varies on the student, their needs, pace and learning style. I strongly believe in clear communication and actively engaging with students as they work through questions. I focus on breaking down complex topics into smaller sub-topics and teaching in manageable steps. This approach helps students develop understanding and apply their knowledge to different exam-style questions. I am a calm and supportive tutor and I take my time in understanding my students and finding the best teaching method for them. I am always open to questions and reviewing independent work my students complete. Alongside teaching content, I encourage my students to build confidence and prepare for challenging questions; this way they are prepared for all scenarios and can develop a positive academic mindset. My aim is to help students improve academically as well as gaining confidence to achieve their full potential. I want to support them in becoming independent and resilient learners that feel empowered to tackle challenges.

Hi, I’m Nguyen Nguyen, a Mathematics student at Imperial College London with a lifelong passion for maths and science. I find problem-solving deeply rewarding and aim to help students discover the joy and confidence that comes with mastering these subjects. My academic journey has shaped my approach to tutoring. I moved to the UK in Year 11, facing the challenge of taking my GCSEs within a year — all while English wasn’t my first language. Despite this, I achieved grade 9s in most subjects using effective study techniques. This experience taught me that, with the right strategies, learning doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. I’m committed to sharing these methods with my students to help them achieve their own academic success. For my A-levels, I studied at King’s Maths School, a specialised maths school, where I earned 3 A*s in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics. I also competed in national competitions, earning medals in the British Maths Olympiad and British Physics Olympiad, ranking among the top 50 students in the country for both subjects. Having supported many students through outreach programs with their GCSE and A-level studies, I understand that every learner is different. My tutoring style focuses on building strong intuition, tailoring lessons to each student’s unique learning style, and nurturing problem-solving skills that go beyond rote memorisation. Whether you’re aiming to improve your grades, tackle challenging problems, or prepare for competitions, I’m here to help you achieve your goals — and enjoy the journey along the way.

Hi, I’m Olivia! I'm a current Economics and Spanish student at the University of Leeds, and I've been tutoring GCSE Maths and Spanish since January. I understand how challenging these subjects can sometimes feel, so my aim is always to break things down clearly and build confidence step by step. Whether it's working through tricky maths problems or improving Spanish grammar and vocabulary, I tailor lessons to suit each student’s learning style and pace. As a university student who recently completed GCSEs and A-levels myself, I know what examiners are looking for and how to help students tackle revision and past papers effectively. I try to make sessions engaging, encouraging, and focused on real progress—whether that's boosting grades or simply making the subject feel less daunting. I’m always happy to adapt to what the student needs most. My degree supports both subjects I teach: Economics has sharpened my Maths skills, especially in problem-solving, while studying Spanish at university level (including a year abroad in Madrid) means I use the language daily and have a strong grasp of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural context. I'm currently on track for a First Class degree, and I bring the same level of focus and enthusiasm to my tutoring. I aim to make content clear, accessible, and relevant to each student. I have prior experience supporting students through school-run Maths and Spanish clinics and now through Edumentors. I really enjoy getting to know my students and try to create a relaxed, friendly environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I always aim to make lessons engaging and enjoyable - something students can look forward to each week, not just another task on their to-do list!

I am very excited to be able to support you and help in every way possible! I have recently graduated with a First class Masters in General Engineering at the University of Sheffield. I love supporting others and adapting my ways of explaining various things. No matter what you are struggling or require extra support with, I will always be here to help and ensure you get the grade you deserve! I have 4 years of tutoring experience in maths where I have received excellent feedback from my pupils. I have managed to grow their confidence and help provide a range of revision and exam techniques. I also have great experience of teaching tennis to a wide range of ages and abilities over my many years of experience as a tennis coach. This has required me to be very adaptable, flexible and organised to deliver excellent tennis lessons. I have also gained high quality time-management and leadership skills through this. I enjoy getting to know others and understanding where their strengths and weaknesses lie. My approach to tutoring will be to provide engaging, challenging and fun lessons! I will work on areas where the student struggles and help improve on areas of weakness. I will also provide revision tips and different methods of approaching different types of questions. I understand that every individual learns differently so I will tailor my tutoring to the needs of the individual! Finally, I will remain flexible and provide regular quizzes in order to consolidate work from previous lessons.

Very big improvement given a short period of time with only a small time period of about 3 months my daughter in year 10 has gone from a level U to a level 4 in her maths grade with her tutor Jose. He is a very good maths teacher and has very easy ways of doing hard GCSE maths. What my daughter used to find immensely hard is now very easy. Jose is sadly not her tutor anymore but this was a very great experience and will be looking forward to using this company again for my daughter to get high grades and pass her GCSE’s thank you very much.

Excellent service, highly recommented Booked a block of Lessons leading up to my sons maths exam as maths was his weakest subject and he felt he wanted help. Pia (the tutor) was patient and professional and explained things in a way my son could easily understand. He looked forward to each lesson and felt the lessons gave him the confidence, knowledge and understanding he needed to face his maths GCSE exam. He thinks he did really well in his first exam and we are so pleased we invested in the lessons leading up to his GCSE’s. Can’t recommend Edumentors and Pia enough. Really professional service and well worth the money.

The tutoring times were really flexible and the tutor themselves (Izzy Mitchell) was amazing. The level of communication allowed between the student and tutor made it easy for my questions to be answered quickly. So thank you so much Edumentors and Izzy! Personally, I went from a 6 to a 9 in AQA English literature in just a few weeks so if you are thinking about it, give it a go!

Absolutely superb. Helped my son move from a predicted D in Maths to an actual A, in year. Highly recommend both Edumentors and specifically Apoorv as a tutor. It was easy to set-up, pay and manage. Any issues were solved quickly and without fuss.

Fantastic Flexible German Tutoring We had Imogen from Edumentor tutoring my daughter for GCSE’s. Imogen is a fantastic tutor and through the year prepared my daughter enabling her to get a 9 in German. Edumentor were extremely flexible and helpful in ensuring we could have the sessions when we needed them the most. I would throughly recommend using them for your GCSE tutoring.

Need a Tutor to Help Your Child Succeed?

When GCSE subjects start to feel more demanding, it often shows in both confidence and results. Many parents notice that revision becomes stressful or that their child loses track of important topics.

At this point, it is not always clear what will help most, so families begin exploring different options. Some start with GCSE maths tutors online or GCSE English language tutors to strengthen core subjects. With so many options available, choosing the right support can feel difficult. These questions are here to help you understand what to expect from online GCSE tutoring and what actually makes a difference as your child prepares for exams.
