Hi, I'm Sumaiya and I'm studying Biomedical sciences at Queen Mary university of London.I I received Grades 9-8 during my GCSEs. I'm passionate about learning, leading, and supporting others in their growth. I have tutored English, literature to GCSE students and I’ve also helped my siblings with math and other subjects. I’ve extended this passion through volunteering at a primary school, where I supported children in developing their English and math skills. These experiences strengthened my communication skills, patience and ability to explain ideas clearly—qualities I bring to every tutoring session. Beyond tutoring, I’ve taken on leadership roles as a House Captain and Prefect, where I guided and motivated my peers. These opportunities taught me valuable skills in teamwork, organization and problem-solving, as well as the confidence to step up and take responsibility. I’m also proud of my achievements outside the classroom. Winning a trophy in an Islamic competition showed me the rewards of dedication, discipline and continuous learning. Along the way, I’ve balanced academics, extracurricular activities community involvement and my faith, building strong time management and adaptability skills. When I’m not studying or leading, I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my family through watching movies and TV shows—they’re my favourite way to relax, discover new perspectives and spark creativity. At the heart of everything I do—whether it’s tutoring, volunteering, or leading—I aim to make a positive impact on others, while growing into a more skilled, empathetic, and confident individual.

My name is Tyra Branch, and I am a third year medical student at the university of Cambridge. As a tutor, I strive for my student to achieve their greatest potential in academic performance and instill them with the essential time management and revision strategies to help them excel. My Educational Background: In my A-Level exams, I have achieved 3 A*s in A-Level maths, chemistry and biology, as well as achieving an A* in my extended project qualification. As a medical student, I apply a range of A-level knowledge to my studies, and the foundations of knowledge these A-Levels have provided have helped me to build up my understanding of complex medical knowledge. The specific exam boards I completed exams for were OCR A for biology, AQA for chemistry and Edexcel for maths. However, I am able to research and accommodate to all exam boards. My style of teaching: As a tutor , I am aware that each student learns differently and may be a visual learner, a learner who values verbal explanations or a learner who values high yield notes. As a result, I can accommodate my teaching style to match the learning style of my student. However, my basic teaching style includes providing a PowerPoint presentation with high yield notes and knowledge for each topic covered on the exam specification (specifications are a list of topics to be covered, and high yield knowledge is knowledge that is often and frequently examined within exam papers). I will also include diagrams to help visualise the complex concepts. Following this we will apply knowledge to practice questions to help to understand the information required in each exam answer and practice the integration of our knowledge into different concepts. I hope that you consider choosing me to be your tutor, and I can run through any extra information and questions in our 15-minute free trial session, thank you for considering me, Tyra.

I hold a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Imperial College London, graduating with Distinction. I also earned a First Class Honours BSc in Biomedical Sciences from University College London. At A-Level and IGCSE, I achieved A* grades in both Biology and Mathematics. With a strong academic background and years of tutoring experience, I specialise in teaching Biology and Mathematics to students of varying ages and abilities. I focus not only on subject mastery but also on helping students develop effective revision and exam strategies tailored to their individual learning styles. Over the years, I have successfully helped students improve their academic performance—raising grades from D to B and helping high-achieving students maintain top marks. My approach includes personalised lesson planning, targeted guidance on study habits, and clear explanation of complex concepts. I also draw from an extensive collection of exam-style questions to reinforce understanding and build confidence. In addition to academic tutoring, I have experience as an assistant teacher in abacus and arithmetic maths, working with students across different age groups. This has strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching style to suit diverse learners. I am fluent in both English and Mandarin, and conversational in Cantonese. This allows me to support students who may face language barriers, ensuring they feel understood and empowered in their studies.
