Hi, I am Andrew, an LSE student reading history. I am a strong believer that anyone who has the right guidance and a way into a topic or subject can achieve the very best grades. As a fully qualified Tennis Coach I have considerable experience in coaching people and in communicating effectively with people, all of whom learn in different ways. Coaching tennis has taught me important time management skills, when balancing that with academic work. Hi! I'm Oscar, and I'm a fourth-year student at the University of Warwick studying Computer Science. Having been through the pressure of GCSEs, A-levels, and UCAS, I understand what students face and take a relaxed yet careful approach to tutoring. This includes ensuring content is thoroughly understood through examples and exam questions, as well as focusing on exam technique by using examiners' reports and mark schemes from exam boards to help students write the best answers possible. My experience using these methods is extensive, enabling me to score 9 9s in my GCSEs and 3 A*Ss at A-level in Geography, Biology and Mathematics (as well as full marks in a software-related EPQ). I’m Luke, I am a Natural sciences student at Cambridge. Studied Maths Chemistry Biology and geography at A level. This summer I am a Teaching intern at SMC/vantage. I have taught whole lessons in the sciences and geography from ks3 to a level. A massive fan of conservation and nature, formula one and football. Sadly I am a spurs fan so the less said about football the better. I’m a member of the rspb so I do enjoy bird watching and every summer for the past 2 years I’ve volunteered to teach ecology and data analysis to year 12 students in Morecambe‘s salt marshes over a whole week. The best bit about teaching for me is the moment it clicks, specifically when a student doesn't understand a concept, reframing my approach and it eventually working is as good as it gets.

I have been a Private Tutor for the last 9 years, tutoring students who have been finding their GCSE and A-Level curriculum difficult. Overall, I have taught more than 100 students over the last 9 years and helped them achieve their desired grades and university. I have an Honours Degree from Imperial College London for BEng Joint Maths and Computer Science. Lesson Structure: My online lessons mainly happen through Microsoft OneNote. Every OneNote notebook I have for a student keeps track of the following three parts: - a curriculum checklist to make sure our lessons are kept on track, - lesson notes to keep track of everything we worked on together, and - mini-mock exams to help students get used to exam situations. I keep my lesson from 1 to 2 hours, where we use the first 30 mins to cover anything you need help with immediately. For the rest of the lesson, we work on topics that you have found challenging/difficult, making sure we are on top of everything covered in school. If we have managed to cover all of those topics, we move on to topics that will be covered in school. This will help give the student a head start and stay ahead of your class, which will help make school lessons easier. Furthermore, I like to keep students on track with their independent studying outside of our lessons by giving mini-mock exams approximately every 2 months (given we do lessons twice a week). These mini-mock exams help students get acclimatised to exam situations and provide motivation for students to do independent studying outside school and our private lessons. Each mini-mock contains exam-style questions with a couple of difficult/tricky questions to help students prepare for the worst-case scenario when it comes to the actual exam they will be sitting. If needed, I provide proper mock exams to help recreate an exam situation to help students gauge their shortcomings and help them improve themselves.
