I am a 1st year University of Cambridge Modern & Medieval Languages (French & German) Undergraduate student with a keen interest in literature (both foreign and English) and economics (mainly financial markets). I studied Economics, French, German and Russian at A-level and really enjoyed this combination. I am an avid reader, a travel enthusiast and a passionate linguist. I have taught many subjects at GCSE level in the past, however, I now prefer to specialise in teaching English and foreign languages, more precisely French and German, as well as Economics, for students of any age and level. Hi! I'm Adèle, I'm a French native currently studying a BA at UCL in International Relations and Japanese and soon a Master student in Public Policy at the University of Tokyo. I am part of a UCL Student Project called Impact Initiative that teaches English to London-based refugees and for which I designed materials and supervised online lessons. I have experience tailoring my tutoring to different age-groups and the tools available to me thanks to my mom -which works as a speech/language therapist- have been incredibly useful for this. My older sister is dyslexic and my little brother has very low eyesight and I would frequently help them study and practice their writing with me when we lived together. I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD without hyperactivity which I have managed to work around thanks to study methods that I would happily share with others. Apart from politics, international relations and Japanese, I have kept on studying literature and writing by taking extra university modules, and I am very confident about my writing. As an example, I recently helped a Physics student tailor his motivation letter for a Physics Master at ETH Zürich, for which he got accepted. Hi there, I am Annie! I hope I can help you gain a better understanding of the sciences, maths and French. I will help you to learn what examiners are looking for and to achieve the best you can in your GCSEs and A-Levels! I received seven top grade 9s at GCSE (including in Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and French). I continued to study Chemistry, Maths and Physics at A-Level (in addition to Further Maths and French AS-Levels) and achieved high grades (2 A*s and 3 As respectively). I gained deeper understanding of these topics, pursuing them in a Natural Sciences Degree at the University of York, where I also spent a year working abroad in France. I understand the difficulty of staying focused on task, and frustration when you don’t understand the subject or when you try but don’t get the grades that match your effort. I hope I can make learning fun, enjoyable and interesting – and explain concepts in different ways, if you don’t understand the first time around. I have often helped teach peers or younger students in an informal setting, as well as my younger sister through KS1,2,3 and into GCSEs.
