I'm Apoorv, a second-year Mathematics student at Warwick University, graduating with predicted first-class honours. I have three years' experience teaching A-level and GCSE Mathematics as well as A-level Mathematics. Having achieved A*A*AA at A-level, I'm qualified to teach high-level mathematics. I have also several times qualfied for the next stage of the UKMT Maths Challenge and won several Gold awards. Having entered into Warwick, I also had to achieve 80+ marks in the MAT. With a passion for extracirricular activities-such as robotics, in which I came top 10 at a national event and qualified for an international tournament in Hungary-I have a wide variety of skills. I specialise in tutoring Mathematics, with a focus on university entrance papers such as TMUA, MAT and STEP. I believe in improving students' grades through advancing technical skills such as proof-construction and developing intuition for problems with worked examples. Experience is without a doubt the best way to improve on your maths skills. My classes focus on helping the student through worked examples, giving them the space they need to act independently, while also providing support where needed. I have been a Private Tutor for the last 7 years tutoring students that have been finding their GCSE and A-Level curriculum difficult. Overall, I have taught more than 100 students over the last 7 years and helped them achieve their desired grades and university. If you have the passion and desire to do well in your studies, I will help you achieve it regardless of your current grades. I have an Honours Degree from Imperial College London for BEng Joint Maths and Computer Science. I have also achieved A*A*A*A in my A-Level for Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science as well as 8A*s, 3As and 1B in my GCSEs. Lesson Structure: My online lessons mainly happen through Microsoft OneNote. Every OneNote notebook I have for a student keeps track of three following parts: - a curriculum checklist to make sure our lessons are kept on track, - lesson notes to keep track of everything we worked on together, and - mini-mock exams to help students get used to exam situations. I keep my lesson from 1 to 2 hours where we use the first 30 mins to cover anything you need help with immediately. For the rest of the lesson, we work on topics that you have found challenging/difficult, making sure we are on top of everything covered in school. If we have managed to cover all of those topics, we move on to topics that will be covered in school. This will help give the student a head start and stay ahead of your class which will help make school lessons easier. Furthermore, I like to keep students on track with their independent studying outside of our lessons by giving mini-mock exams approximately every 2 months (given we do lessons twice a week). These mini-mock exams help students get acclimatised to exam situations and provide motivation for students to do independent studying outside school and our private lessons. Each mini-mock contains exam-style questions with a couple of difficult/tricky questions to help students prepare for the worst-case scenario when it comes to the actual exam they will be sitting. If needed, I provide proper mock exams to help recreate an exam situation to help students gauge their shortcomings and help them improve themselves.

Hello! I'm Taylor, a trainee airline pilot with British Airways, due to start flying A320s towards the middle of 2025. Prior to this, I graduated in Biomedical Engineering at Surrey University with First Class Honors (as well as having completed pre-clinical medicine at the University of Edinburgh with a grade average of 80% before finding my calling in aviation), and was an IB student at Tonbridge Grammar School, achieving 41/45 (with a 6/7/7 in Maths, Physics, and Computer Science respectively). As a tutor I have worked privately since 2017, tutoring primarily maths to students aged 11-18, as well as UCAT, Personal Statement writing, and Interview technique for prospective medicine applicants. My students have consistently gone on to achieve their goal in the exams they are aiming for, with a notable example being a GCSE maths student that I (in combination with my tutee's hard work!) brought from a grade 1/2 to a 6/7 over the course of 12 weeks of tutoring. I am delivering webinars to classes of 20-30 students covering both past papers and challenging concepts within a subject. My tutoring style very much depends on the student; however, I always start by identifying the student's goals and the areas they struggle in. I will then tailor the sessions to make sure we cover those topics, and I also attempt to link the topics we cover to their application in the real world (my engineering degree helps with this), so I hope that my students not only achieve the goal they have set but also come out understanding that school subjects can be useful after all!
