Hi, my name is Rudy and I am a second-year Civil Engineering student at the University of Manchester with a strong academic background in both Maths and Physics. I am committed to helping and supporting students to achieve their target grades and develop a strong understanding in their chosen subjects. Throughout my academic journey, I have had a strong, academically focused mindset that helped me achieve top grades in Maths, Physics and Engineering during GCSEs and A-Levels. I took part in the UK Mathematics Challenge during my time at secondary school and sixth-form at both junior and senior level, where I received a Bronze certificate. These achievements alongside my dedication to study engineering from GCSE level to university, has helped me form a strong analytical foundation and grow my passion for learning. My expertise in tutoring lies in Maths and Physics across all ages and I am most confident in teaching the British Curriculum. My style of teaching varies on the student, their needs, pace and learning style. I strongly believe in clear communication and actively engaging with students as they work through questions. I focus on breaking down complex topics into smaller sub-topics and teaching in manageable steps. This approach helps students develop understanding and apply their knowledge to different exam-style questions. I am a calm and supportive tutor and I take my time in understanding my students and finding the best teaching method for them. I am always open to questions and reviewing independent work my students complete. Alongside teaching content, I encourage my students to build confidence and prepare for challenging questions; this way they are prepared for all scenarios and can develop a positive academic mindset. My aim is to help students improve academically as well as gaining confidence to achieve their full potential. I want to support them in becoming independent and resilient learners that feel empowered to tackle challenges.

Hi, I’m Larissa! I’m a naturally chatty, friendly and supportive person who loves helping students feel more confident in their abilities. For me, tutoring is about helping students work towards the grades they’re aiming for while also building their understanding, confidence and enjoyment of the subject. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and find an approach that works best for them. I’ve supported younger students during sixth form as well as tutoring my younger brother and family friends’ children. One of the things I’ve really enjoyed is seeing students become more confident as they start to understand a topic that they initially found difficult. Being able to make that difference is a big part of why I love tutoring. Academically, I achieved an A* in English Literature and Language A Level, an A in Psychology and Grade 8s in the GCSE subjects I tutor. I’m now in my second year of university studying English Literature and Film Studies and I’m working towards a first class degree. I know that every student is different, so I like to keep lessons relaxed and encouraging while making sure they are tailored to each individual student. Whether you’re looking for help with essay planning, practising exam questions, understanding difficult content, building confidence or improving your exam technique- I’m happy to adapt our sessions. We can focus on whatever works best for you and your goals. All of my own exams were with AQA. I’m therefore particularly familiar with the AQA specification, mark schemes and exam style. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable and at ease during our sessions. I’ll always encourage you to ask questions, have a go and build your confidence along the way. Outside of university and tutoring, I enjoy running, climbing and watching and making films. I’d love to help you feel more confident in your subject and work towards the grades you’re aiming for. I look forward to meeting some of you soon!

Hi! My name is Rosie, and I am a 3rd year undergraduate student studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol, currently achieving a 1st class grade. This year I was also a finalist in the Undergraduate of the Year Awards! At the age of 14 I set up my own tutoring business, which has been running successfully for 5 years, and during this time I have provided a wide variety of online and in-person tutoring sessions, each one tailored to the individual needs of the student. I have experience working with pupils with a range of SEND needs, especially ADHD. In school, I achieved 10 grade 9 results at GCSE, and A*, A*, A*, A* at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I was also awarded the Physics attainment award for achieving the top grade in my sixth form, as well as a Bucks Young Scientist of the Year Award in Physics, in 2022. I have competed in multiple maths, chemistry and physics Olympiads throughout my school experience, often achieving gold awards in these events. I believe that these results show my skill and dedication to these subjects, as well as my ability to perform well in exams. A large part of my tutoring sessions focus on exam technique, so that students can access their full potential under the pressure of an exam situation. In 2023 I deferred my place at university to gain some more experience before entering undergraduate study, and for 3 months I worked full time in a secondary school as a teacher assistant. This has provided me with lots of classroom experience, helping students in their studies and organisational skills from Year 7 all the way up to Year 13. During this time I built up confidence and ability in teaching, with a keen focus on aiding SEND pupils. I absolutely love tutoring; creating an interactive and enjoyable learning environment for a pupil to access the support they need is one of the most rewarding feelings. If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to contact me and arrange a 15 minute trial session to get started!

I am a devoted educator committed to supporting others as they aim to achieve their potential. My colourful educational and professional background places me in an ideal position to help others understand complex information. I was born in Oldham, Manchester but grew up in Leicester in the East Midlands where I attended primary and secondary school, sixth-form, and university. I excelled at secondary school but found it tough at sixth-form, although I didn't help myself by picking five subjects in the first year: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, and Further Maths. After attending sixth-form, I studied on a MPhys Physics with Astrophysics degree at the University of Leicester and graduated in 2017. I then completed my PhD in Physics at the same university before becoming a STEM Teaching Fellow in the physics department. My area of research was/is planetary science and I study the interaction of Saturn's atmosphere and its aurorae. During my PhD, I was very fortunate to get the opportunity to travel to Hawaii, USA and Sendai, Japan for telescope observing and an international conference, respectively. I have previously worked at both the National Space Centre in Leicester and the Royal Observatory Greenwich in London. Both roles were public-facing and I interacted with visiting members of the public. In my current role I teach mathematics to foundation year students at the University of Leicester which includes lecturing, setting and marking exams, and 1-to-1 tutoring.

Hi, my names Anna! I am an 18 year old from London who recently completed her A Levels in Maths (A*), Further Maths, Physics (A*) and Chemistry. I also achieved all 9s at GCSE (including Further Maths). I am currently working as an Au Pair (working for a family, and looking after their children) in Madrid. I have a place to study Physics at Bristol from September 2027. I also received offers from Durham, Warwick, and Bath. I have 500+ hours tutoring experience. I have worked with students aging from 4 to 18. I have almost two years of formal tutoring experience with Kumon, teaching Maths to all ages, and a further year of private tutoring work. I have tutored students previously who have successfully achieved 9s in all of their Science and Maths GCSEs. What our sessions will look like: Before our first paid session I will send the student a RAG checklist, which they can colour code with how confident they feel about different areas of the course. This helps our sessions to focus on gaps in their knowledge and areas they are struggling with, to ensure a well rounded understanding of the syllabus with a focus on solidifying foundational knowledge if necessary. Sessions are 1 hour long and will usually consist of: a brief recap of knowledge using active recall techniques, an overview of a specific concept focusing on inquiry based learning, followed by practice questions with a focus on timing and exam technique. I usually assign homework of a problem sheet on the topic we covered in session, so that the student can reinforce their learning. I also encourage my students to practice spaced repetition using flashcards at home to accompany the sessions, I will help the student find / make these resources and demonstrate the most effective usage techniques. Looking forward to meeting you! Anna

Need a Tutor to Help Your Child Succeed?

At this point, it is not always clear what will help most, so families begin exploring different options.
