Secure an A/A*! Engaging and Patient Tutor About Me: I’m Salmaan, I am a highly energised tutor who loves teaching and engaging with my students. I started tutoring almost 10 years ago! I thus have vast experience. I also have additional professional experience having worked at a top 10 Accounting Firm (Azets - Tax Accountant) and in the Uber Headquarters as a Data Analyst. This allows me to provide valuable insights for entering various professional fields if any of my students need advice pertaining to CVs and interviews. My General Tutoring Approach (personalized for each student): 1. Assess the ability of the student (strengths and pain points) 2. Create a plan with concrete time bound goals 3. Theory-based learning 4. Practice until perfect! To help students attain the best results I assess them using a past paper. This allows us to figure out the students ability over a vast range of subjects. Thereafter, I create a traffic light system based on the students ability within each topic (Green - Excellent - Amber - Good Red - Room for improvement). The theory of these topics is then covered for each subject and once again, past papers are used to cover a range of questions within a topic varying in difficulty. Past papers are essential for learning as students learn exam techniques and build confidence as they become more comfortable I can support your child’s needs successfully so please don’t hesitate to drop a message!

Experienced Maths & Economics Tutor | Tailored Lessons for Top Grades Hi! I'm a dedicated and experienced tutor with over six years of teaching expertise in Mathematics and Economics. I hold a degree in Economics and Statistics from University College London (UCL) and have a deep passion for helping students unlock their academic potential. Whether you're preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, or simply looking to build confidence in the subject, I'm here to support you every step of the way. I've worked with students of all abilities, and I pride myself on creating a supportive, engaging, and personalised learning environment—both in person and online. I've taught extensively across all major UK exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and WJEC, so I’m very familiar with the expectations and assessment styles of each. My work with MyTutor's National School Programme has allowed me to deliver both one-on-one and small group sessions (groups of up to 4 students), helping learners from a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles. I consistently adapt my materials and methods to suit individual student needs, ensuring that every session is purposeful and tailored. From core concepts to exam technique, I’ve helped many students gain clarity, confidence, and improved grades. My approach is patient, flexible, and highly structured. I believe that no two students learn the same, so I tailor every lesson based on the individual’s goals, pace, and preferred learning style. I use a topic tracker to monitor progress and identify areas to revisit, and I regularly assign homework to reinforce learning between sessions. As exams approach, I shift the focus to exam paper walkthroughs, past paper practice, and technique coaching—so students don’t just know the content, they know how to maximise their marks. Having been through the exam system myself, I understand the importance of building confidence as well as knowledge, and I always aim to bring clarity, encouragement, and structure to each session.

Hi! I am a BSc Economics graduate from the University of Manchester with experience teaching Economics, Maths and English to students who want lessons explained clearly and practically. I grew up in Japan following the British curriculum. I've been both an underperforming student and high acheiving one, so I know what change is required for high performance. Having achieved an A* in A-level maths and continued with quantitative subjects in university, I am confident in my ability to improve my students' ability by at lest 2 levels over a couple of months. I have worked in finance, sales and, more relevantly, education, with now over 300 hours of private 1-to-1 tutoring experience. I did most of it in Japan, tutoring second-language English speakers rather than native speakers. This forced me to be able to explain complicated concepts - according to the student’s age – in a very concise and easy-to-understand manner, irrespective of the students' natural ability. My technique involves building a relationship with the student, grow love in their mind for the subject, and foster excitement to want to teach the same things they learnt. I can’t begin to tell you the difference in processing speed between students who are taught to love the subject and those who aren’t. We are wired to think success comes largely from intelligence and hard work; however, people often neglect the impact of passion. I aim to shift the perspective of the student to love the subjects they are learning before we dive deep. See you soon!
