Hi! My name is Esmé and I'm a third year German & Linguistics student at the University of Oxford who is passionate about providing students with a bespoke and encouraging learning environment, whether they want to improve their grades, prepare for an exam or work through a tricky subject area. I take a student-centred approach, with my main aim being to boost the student's interest in their subject. I believe this is what fosters the best results and is ultimately the most beneficial for the student! Therefore I adapt my lessons to what the student finds suits them best, finding new and creative ways to support and inspire them. At Oxford I regularly analysed and discussed both literary and scientific texts and presented complex topics to my peers. I am therefore well-equipped to help students develop their critical thinking skills necessary for effectively analysing their English or German set texts. My decision to study Linguistics at university was a result of how much I loved doing topics such as Child Language and Historical Linguistics in English Language A-level, a subject in which I got exclusively As and A*s for graded work. During my year abroad, I consolidated my german language skills and can confidently offer tutoring in all areas including german grammar, writing and conversation. Having attained As in German and English Language A level and 9s in Maths and English Language GCSE and having a passion for language and writing that extends beyond the classroom, I know I can help students fulfil their potential with my enthusiastic and effective lessons. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to meeting you!

Secure an A/A*! Engaging and Patient Tutor About Me: I’m Salmaan, I am a highly energised tutor who loves teaching and engaging with my students. I started tutoring almost 10 years ago! I thus have vast experience. I also have additional professional experience having worked at a top 10 Accounting Firm (Azets - Tax Accountant) and in the Uber Headquarters as a Data Analyst. This allows me to provide valuable insights for entering various professional fields if any of my students need advice pertaining to CVs and interviews. My General Tutoring Approach (personalized for each student): 1. Assess the ability of the student (strengths and pain points) 2. Create a plan with concrete time bound goals 3. Theory-based learning 4. Practice until perfect! To help students attain the best results I assess them using a past paper. This allows us to figure out the students ability over a vast range of subjects. Thereafter, I create a traffic light system based on the students ability within each topic (Green - Excellent - Amber - Good Red - Room for improvement). The theory of these topics is then covered for each subject and once again, past papers are used to cover a range of questions within a topic varying in difficulty. Past papers are essential for learning as students learn exam techniques and build confidence as they become more comfortable I can support your child’s needs successfully so please don’t hesitate to drop a message!

Hello, my name is Ben. I am a Mathematics graduate from the University of Exeter, and I specialise in tutoring GCSE and A-level Mathematics. I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics and an A at A-level, and I have now been tutoring mathematics for around two years. I particularly enjoy helping students move beyond simply memorising methods and towards understanding why the mathematics works. I find that once the underlying idea makes sense, unfamiliar questions become much less intimidating. My lessons usually begin with a few questions to establish a student's current understanding and identify any gaps or weaker areas. From there, I tailor the session around what they need most, whether that is revisiting a difficult topic, developing problem-solving skills, working through exam-style questions, or improving exam technique. I aim to make lessons interactive rather than simply demonstrating solutions. I will often ask students to talk me through their reasoning, break a difficult problem into smaller pieces, and try alternative approaches when their first method does not work. My goal is for students to become increasingly confident solving problems independently. Outside tutoring, I have spent more than ten years studying and performing close-up and stage magic, and I also enjoy chess, programming, and mathematical projects. These have all influenced the way I approach mathematics: as something built from patterns, logic and problem-solving rather than a collection of formulas to remember. I currently offer tutoring in GCSE and A-level Mathematics. If you have any questions about lessons, topics or exam boards, please feel free to message me.

Need a Tutor to Help Your Child Succeed?

A-levels can feel very different from GCSEs. The jump in difficulty often comes from having to apply knowledge in more depth, not just remember it. Many students find that what worked before no longer feels enough, especially as exams get closer.

This is when families begin exploring extra support. Some look for an A-Level Maths tutor or an English tutor A-Level, while others consider more specific options like Physics tuition. For students transitioning from earlier stages, GCSE tutors online can also help reinforce key foundations.

With different subjects and goals involved, it helps to understand what kind of support will make the biggest difference.

A-level tutors usually start from around £30 per hour, depending on the subject and level of support needed. Subjects like physics often vary more due to demand, which is why many students look for A-Level Physics tuition when they need focused help. In most cases, families focus on finding a tutor who can explain topics clearly and support steady progress.
